ObjectiveTo investigate the serum cystatin C(CysC)and Guillain Barre syndrome(GBS)clinical relevance,CysC in serum and cerebrospinal fluid changes in GBS,explore the role of CysC in the pathogenesis of GBS,to explore the impact of risk factors of GBS patients with paralysis,it provides clues for understanding the pathogenesis of GBS and seeking new diagnostic methods.MethodsWe collected 30 cases of GBS from December 2015 to February 2018 in our neurology department as GBS group, including 19 males and 11 females, aged from 15 to78 years old, with an average age of 50.5 ± 15 years. The control group consisted of 30 patients, who with headache ang cerebrospinal fluid was normal in the same period. There were 14 males and 16 females. The age of the patients was from 18 to 75 years old, with an average age of 50.3 ±15.7 years.According to the Hughes score of GBS were divided into mild group and severe group, the determination of GBS in serum and cerebrospinal fluid of CysC group,GBS group and control group in serum and cerebrospinal fluid CysC value is statistically significant, then do correlation analysis of serum and cerebrospinal fluid CysC and Hughes score, and the correlation analysis of the factors of GBS patients with the Hughes score the influence factors, then select the correlation as independent variables, with Hughes score as the dependent variable, multiple regression analysis, the risk factors of GBS patients with limb paralysis.Results1.GBS group compared with the control group was P=0.45,P>0.05,and the difference was not statistically significant.2.Two groups of serum CysC,GBS group increased compared with the control group, and P=0.005,P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant;GBS group mild and severe comparison, serum CysC,severe slightly increased significantly,P=0.012,P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant.3.There was a positive correlation between serum CysC and Hughes score of GBS patients,r=0.759 and p<0.01.There was no correlation between CysC score and Hughes score of GBS patients,r=0.247,p>0.05.4.GBS patients was positively correlated with age, serum CysC and cerebrospinal fluid protein, negative correlated with precursor events, and was not related to CysC in cerebrospinal fluid and sex.5.Taking Hughes score as the dependent variable and taking precursor events, serum CysC,cerebrospinal fluid protein and age as independent variables,it was found that serum CysC and cerebrospinal fluid protein were risk factors of Hughes score.Conclusion1.Serum CysC may be used as an indicator of the severity of GBS patients.2.Serum CysC and cerebrospinal fluid protein maybe the risk factors of limb paralysis in GBS patients.
