Case Reports:Orthodontic Treatment In Adult With Facial Asymmetries

Facial asymmetry deformity is a kind of complicated mandibular deformity,which seriously affects the facial appearance and mental health of the patients.The clinical manifestations are that the midline o fthe upper and lower teeth line are not agreed with the median sagittalline,accompanied by individual anterior teeth,individual posterior teeth,orscissors bite of most of the posterior teeth,dental arch stenosis,etc.the lower jaw is often inclined to one side,with mandibular position and abnormal morphology,which seriously endangers the facial beauty and occlusion function of the patients.The common factors of the disease are bad oral habits and occlusal factors,trauma,evelopment and others.Clinically,facial asymmetry is divided into three types: tooth,bone and function.In terms of early treatment,correction and the removal of the etiology were advocated for the patients.For adult patients,which mandible has lost its growth potential,the treatment methods depend on the type of fault micromaxillary deformity,abnormal severity and the pursuit of proper facial featuresThese are two options for adult facial asymmetry,one is orthodontic camouflage treatment which applies to teeth and functional deformity with slight jaw deformity and the other is orthognathic surgery.Examination and diagnosis of orthodontic camouflage treatment should pay attention to analyze the limit of orthodontic compensatory correction,mainly in the treatment of tooth compensatory movement mainly,take the jaw extension,intermaxillary traction and other methods,pay attention to reduce the mandible in the horizontal displacement,avoid compensatory correction beyond the joint tolerance and the joint discomfort and pain.The main clinical manifestation of the bone asymmetry deformity is mandible asymmetry,The patients with this type of dental arch stenosis,the teeth of the buccal tongue tilt compensation,the jaw in the long and high three-dimensional direction,often need the orthognathic treatment.Therefore,it is necessary to expand the arch and correct the molar inclination in preoperative orthodontic.Reasonable operation method is inseparable from the threedimensional direction of the accurate analysis of the jaw,the current use of CBCT to build the patient's facial morphology,combined with the corresponding software for surgery simulation is used in clinic,and the preoperative 3D printing patients with the upper mandible,can design of the osteotomy site.This paper through two cases of adult facial asymmetry deformity report(one pure orthodontic treatment,another orthodontic with orthognathic surgery),discusses the adult facial asymmetry deformity with the clinical features,diagnosis,etiology,classification and treatment.
