Clinical Treatment Of Three Different Skeletal Pattern Malocclusion

Objective: To investigate characteristics of diagnosis and treatment,the treatment design and effects in the treatment of three patients with three different skeletal malocclusion.Materials and Methods:We selecte three patients from Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fujian Medical University.Their skeletal malocclusion are skeletal Class I malocclusion,skeletal Class ? malocclusion and skeletal Class ? malocclusion.Case 1: LSH,a 23?year?old girl.Her main problem is bucktooth and her incomplete dentition.She had convex profile,skeletal Class I pattern with average mandibular plane angel.anterior deep overjet.The upper and lower teeth are Moderately crowded and the incompetent of lips.The orthodontic treatment can be extraction four first premolar teeth of the upper jaw and the lower jaw.Retraction will be realized by the extraction space near the upper and lower anterior teeth and try to improve the tooth profile.In the same time,it is more better that extractting four the third mandibular molars from the upper jaw and the lower jaw at the same time so as to improve the stability of long-term effect.Case 2:GML is a 12 years old girl with a chief complain of crossbite and the irregular teeth.She had convex profile and skeletal Class ? pattern.The intraoral photographs showed permanent dentition withe Class ? molar relationship and an anterior crossbite with an overjet of-2mm and a deep overbite.The mandibular can back to the position which the anterior overjet of incisor to incisor.The retrusion of the incisors and the protrusion of the upper incisors.Subgingival residual root of 64.The treatment was to extract 64,then use the space of the upper and lower arch,aligning and leveling dental arches,retract mandibular anterior teeth and labial tipping upper anterior teeth to obtain normal overjet,overbite and molar relationship.Case 3: MXT was a 13-years-old pubertal boy.His chief complaint is to improve the protrusion of anterior teeth and asks for curing.He had convex profile,skeletal Class ?,Angle Class ? malocclusion.the protrusion upper antior teeth,the upper and lower teeth are slightly crowded and lips are imcompetent.The treatment design is reduced upper two first premolar,after aligning and leveling dental arches,the upper maximum anchorage to retract anterior teeth,and flare the lower anterior teeth.Establish normal occlusion of anterior teeth and try to improve the bone relationship.Result: After the treatment,the occlusion of anterior and posterior teeth is normal.The alignment of the teeth is neat.Obtain the well occlusion.Soft tissue profile is well improved.Conclusion: As a orthodontist,it is important for us to seize the day of treatment for the different skeletal pattern malocclusion patients.The correct diagnose and right treatment design are necessary.serve the patients better by fully communicating with patients to obtain the understanding and cooperation of patients.
