ObjectiveIn this study,questionnaire survey method was used to investigate the status of the patients'quality of life and social support for people with lower extremity chronic wound,to explore the relationship between the quality of life and social support,to analyze the influencing factors of quality of life,so as to provide theoretical references to improve quality of life in clinical practices.MethodA questionnaire survey method was used,at last a total of 230 patients from 5hospitals of Wuhan were recruited via convenience sampling.All patients were required to complete the following questionnaires:the self-designed general health questionnire,Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),the“Wound-Qol”questionnire.Epidata 3.1 set up the database and SPSS19.0 analyzed the data.Results(1)The general health research revealed that the average age of the 230includingpatientswas60.46±13.271years,with156male(67.8%)and74female(32.2%),people over 45 years accounted for 88.7%,of all the patients,diabetic foot ulcers accounted for 61.7%.(2)The quality of life research revealed that the average scores of quality of life was51.26±13.87,thereweredifferencesbetweendifferentdurationof wound,occupation,stage of wound,living patterns(?~2/F=3.834,3.993,3.381,2.183,P=0.005,0.008,0.010,0.030),Multi-factor regression analysis showed that there were differences between different duration of wound,occupation,stage of wound,source of expenses,educational level,diagnosis,age.(3)The social support research revealed that the average scores of social supportwas35.77±9.16,thereweredifferencesbetweendifferent diagnosis,age,occupation,educational level,marital status,living patterns(?~2/F=3.471,6.880,3.491,3.839,7.826,-3.019,P=0.017,0.000,0.016,0.010,0.001,0.003),Multi-factor regression analysis showed that there were differences between differentmarital status,age,educational level,stage of wound,diagnosis.(4)Research on the relationship between quality of life and social support showed that the score of quality of life was negatively correlated with that of social support,the coefficient was-0.371,all dimentions of social support were negatively correlated with all dimentions of quality of life.The regression analysis showed that dimentions of social support affecting quality of life including subjective support,objective support(P=0.001,0.013).Conclusion(1)Among the lower extremity chronic wound patients,mostly was the middle-aged and old patients,and patients with diabetic foot ulcers accounted for the most.(2)The influencing factors of quality of life for people with lower extremity chronic wound including wound duration,occupation,stage of the wound,source of expenses,educational level,diagnosis,age.(3)The influencing factors of social support for people with lower extremity chronic wound including marital status,age,educational level,stage of the wound,diagnosis.(4)The quality of life for people with lower extremity chronic wound was positively correlated with social support,that is the higher the social support,the better the quality of life.
