Aims:To investigate the prevalence of abnormal pulmonary CT findings in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Methods:A total of 189 patients with IBD and 227 patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders(FGIDs)who met the inclusion criteria were included. The clinical data were collected for retrospective analysis. The prevalences ofabnormal pulmonary CT findings in the two groups were compared. The main types and characteristics of lung lesions on CT imaging were described,The predictive factors of abnormal pulmonary CT findings in IBD patients were analyzed by univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis. Results: Of 189 IBD patients,104 patients(55.03%)had abnormal pulmonary CT findings, and 109(48.02%)of 227 patients with FGIDs hadabnormal pulmonary CT findings. There was no statistical difference between them(?2=2.028,P=0.154).However,results from Logistic regression analysis showed that the IBD disease itself and the patient's age respectivly were the predictive factors of abnormal pulmonary CT findings. The main types of,abnormal pulmonary CT findings were nodular lesions(27.51%)and cord-like lesions(17.46%)in the IBD group.41(78.85%)IBD patients with nodules-like lesions had solitary lung nodules with a diameter of less than 1 cm,clear boundaries, uniform nodule density.Twenty-seven(81.82%)of the cord lesions were located in the medial and lateral lung fields with a clear border. The results from univariate analysis showed that the prevalences of abnormal pulmonary CT findings significantly vary according to the IBD patient's age(t=-3.780,P=0.000).And then Logistic regression analysis revealed that the IBD patient's age was a risk factor of abnormal pulmonary CT findings(OR=1.068,95% CI=1.035-1.103),while their gender, disease duration, disease type, disease activity were not related to abnormal pulmonary CT findingsThe univariate analysis also revealed that the prevalences of abnormal pulmonary CT findings significantly vary according to the UC patient's age(t =-3.332,P= 0.001).And then Logistic regression analysis revealed that the UC patient's age was a risk factor for abnormal pulmonary CT findings(OR=1.086,95% CI=1.029-1.146).In UC patients, their gender, duration of disease, extent of disease, disease activity also were not related toabnormal pulmonary CT findings. The results from univariate analysis and Logistic regression analysis showed that the age, gender, duration of disease, extent of disease, and disease activity in CD patients again were not related to abnormal pulmonary CT findings(P>0.05).Conclusion:IBD may induce lung injury. And once abnormal pulmonary CT findings occur in IBD patients, carefully diagnostic differention will be needed in reality.
