Objective : To investigate the prevalence of dental caries and periodontal disease and analyze the risk factors of dental caries for 12-15 old middle school students in Chongqing and to provide evidence for formulating oral health care programs and objectives and rationally allocating oral health care resources.Method: A total of 4080 people aged from 12 to 15 years old in 4 districts of Chongqing were sampled by a method of stratified,ratio and random.The effective samples of oral examination were 3920,the effective samples of questionnaire were 3902,The data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 software package.Results: The prevalence rate of caries was 41.30% among the middle school students of 12~15 years old in Chongqing,with that of female higher than male(P <0.01)and that of the rural higher than the urban(P <0.01).The DMTF is 0.99,with that of female higher than male(P <0.01)and that of the rural higher than the urban(P <0.01).The filled tooth rate was 6.74%,with that of female was higher than male(P <0.05)and that of the urban higher than the rural(P <0.01).The rate of pit and fissure sealing was 5.0%,with that of female was higher than male(P <0.05)and that of the urban higher than the rural(P <0.01).The rate of gingival bleeding was 75.10%,with that of the rural was higher than the urban(P <0.01)and no significant difference in gender.The rate of dental calculus was 62.24% with that of the male was higher than female(P <0.01)and that of the rural higher than the urban(P <0.01).Gender;Age;pit and fissure sealing;gingival bleeding;Single child and high frequency of candy eating were significantly related with caries(P<0.05)Conclusion:The rate of gingival bleeding and the rate of dental calculus were comparatively higher among the middle school students of 12~15 years old in Chongqing.The prevalence of dental caries and periodontal disease still had great difference between the urban and the rural.Gender;Age;pit and fissure sealing;gingival bleeding;Single child and high frequency of candy eating were risk factors. |
