Background and Objective:Male breast cancer(MBC)accounted for less than 1%of all breast cancer and accounted for 0.3%of all male cancer. But the mortality rate of MBC is higher than that of female breast cancer(FBC)patients.According to statistics, the incidence of male breast cancer is growing at a rate of 1.1%-2%every year. There is a lack of vigilance and understanding of the disease. The purpose of this study is to provide reference data for clinical treatment by analyzing the clinical features, therapy and survival of MBC patients. Methods:A total of 26 male patients with breast cancer confirmed by pathology expert were collected from April 2008 to October 2016 in the Department of Endocrinology breast surgery and Department of oncology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. The patient's age, tumor location, tumor size, pathological grading, pathological type, clinical stage, hormone receptor expression, axillary lymph node metastasis, smoking, family history and treatment plan were obtained in the medical record system. The Kaplan-Meier model was used to analyze the survival of the patients who were followed up.Log-rank test was used to analyses the difference between the average overall survival and the disease-free survival among the subgroups, such as age, clinical stage, operation mode, etc.there was a statistical significance in setting p<0.05.Results:1.the median age of 26 cases of male breast cancer was 61.5 years(50?78 years).2.Most pathological types were nonspecific infiltrative type(88.5%),and there was 1 case of invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive lobular carcinoma(3.8%).3.The hormone receptor positive patients were 25 cases(96.2%),4 cases(15.4%)were luminal A like subtype,2 cases(7.7%)were HER2 positive luminal B like subtype,10 cases(38.5%)were HER2 negative luminal B like subtype, and 9 cases(34.6%)were unknown type, while 1 case(3.8%)was triple negative breast cancer.there were no HER2 over expression subset.4.There were 24 cases(92.3%)in stage I to III,of which 23 cases received surgical treatment, including 13 patients undergoing chemotherapy after surgery,6 patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy,4 cases underwent surgical treatment only.5.Patients with hormone receptor positive were 25 cases, only 16 cases(61.5%)received adjuvant endocrine therapy, treatment plan is mainly tamoxifen, without the use of aromatase inhibitors and luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analogue for men with breast cancer.6.23 cases of male breast cancer patients were followed up,3-year and 5-year overall survival rates were 71%and 56.8%,and the 3-year disease free survival rate was 64.5%.The average DFS and OS in early MBC patients were better than those of advanced MBC patients, and the average DFS of MBC patients with typical radical mastectomy was better than those of MBC patients with modified radical mastectomy. The average DFS of patients underwent surgical treatment was better than those of patients without surgical treatment. Conclusion:male breast cancer is a rare disease. It has the characteristics of high incidence of old age, advanced stage of treatment, higher expression of estrogen receptor and poor prognosis. The average DFS and OS in early MBC patients were better than those of advanced MBC patients, and the average DFS of MBC patients with typical radical mastectomy was better than those of MBC patients with modified radical mastectomy. The average DFS of patients underwent surgical treatment was better than those of patients without surgical treatment. We should pay attention to the science popularization and education of relevant knowledge so that people can find out early.Multi-center clinical research should be promoted, and specific therapy needs more clinical data.
