Clinical Effect Of Telescope-clasp-retained Removable Partial Dentures

Objective:It has been extensively concerned that how to make up the disadvantages of the function,aesthetics and comfort of the removable partial denture.Telescope-claspretained removable partial denture is one of the removable partial dentures,which is retained by both telescope and clasp.This study discusses the clinical effect of telescopeclasp-retained removable partial dentures in dentition defect prosthesis,and has clinical guidance meaning.Methods:This survey involved 18 individuals(18 dentures,42 telescope-retained abutment teeth)receving single jaw telescope-clasp-retained removable partial denture treatment in the 2nd Department of Prosthodontics in Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.Evaluate prostheses by recording patients' satisfaction,the usage of prostheses,the periodontal condition and mobility degree of telescope-retained abutment teeth.Results:Patients' s satisfactions of telescope-clasp-retained removable partial dentures are higher than clasp-retained removable partial dentures,and the satisfaction degree was significantly higher in the comfort degree(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in periodontal condition and mobility degree of telescope retainer butments between before and after the treatment(P>0.05).All dentures were used well during the period of followup examination.Conclusion: Telescope-clasp-retained removable partial denture has the advantages of favorable retention and stability,high masticatory efficiency,aesthetics and comfort,good protection of abutment teeth,and so on.All these merits leads to the great clinical application of telescope-clasp-retained removable partial dentures,which displays excellent clinical application value and development prospecst.
