Objective:To investigate the improvement of postoperative quality of life in patients with hepatic hemangioma, and to provide evidence for decision-making of treatment option. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted in 104 patients with hepatic hemangioma treated by hepatobiliary and splenic surgery at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from September 2011 to February 2017.The changes between preoperative and postoperative quality of life were assessed by the "Gastrointestinal-related Quality of Life Index"(GIQLI).Results:After the assessment, the postoperative overall GIQLI score increased significantly[(127.77 ± 6.226)vs.(120.96 ± 8.328),P <0.05],It's notable that the score of subjective symptom increases most significantly[(73.17 ± 3.608)vs.(69.17 ± 4.102),P <0.05].The GIQLI score of patients with other chronic digestive diseases was significantly higher than that before surgery [(124.59 ± 6.484)vs.(117.45 ± 7.529),P <0.05],but there was no significant difference between the hepatectomy group and the enucleation group[(127.90±6.128)vs.(127.54±6.479),P>0.05].Conclusion:The digestive symptoms and mental anxiety of most patients with hepatic hemangioma can be improved by surgery, and thus the quality of life can be improved.Surgical treatment is still effective for relieving symptoms for those combined with other digestive diseases, but the source of symptoms should be screened as far as possible. The choice of surgical approach has little effect on the quality of life.
