Objective: To investigate the expression of transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase AXL and c-MET in gastrointestinal malignant tumors, and to investigate the correlation between their expression and prognosis and pathological parameters of gastrointestinal cancer. Methods:A total of 380 gastric cancer patients with AXL expression and overall survival(OS)were screened from the Kaplan-Meier Plotter online database.375 patients with gastric cancer with AXL expression and Progress Free Survival(PFS)A total of 380 gastric cancer patients with c-MET expression and overall survival(OS),and 375 gastric cancer patients with c-MET expression and progression-free survival(PFS).A total of 395 gastric cancer patients with complete data were selected for the TCGA gastric cancer database. The clinical features, the correlations between the clinical features, the expression of AXL,c-MET and their prognosis were analyzed.Downloaded the TCGA colorectal cancer database and screened a total of 438 colon cancer patients with complete data to analyze the correlation between the clinical features, the expression of AXL,c-MET and their prognosis. Results: Correlation analysis of the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer by AXL and c-MET by Kaplan-Meier Plotter online database showed that AXL was associated with overall survival(OS)in patients with gastric cancer(HR,1.77;95% confidence interval,1.31-2.4;P = 0.00018).AXL was associated with progression-free survival time(PFS)in patients with gastric cancer(HR,1.65;95% confidence interval,1.23-2.22,P =0.0007))Had no correlation(HR,0.76;95% confidence interval,0.56-1.03,P = 0.076).There was no correlation between c-MET and progression-free survival time(PFS)in patients with gastric cancer(P> 0.05).By analyzing the TCGA gastric cancer database, the correlation analysis of pathological parameters,AXL and c-MET expression and prognosis showed: age(HR,1.390;95%confidence interval,1.017-1.900,P=0.039),and radical degree(HR,3.680;95%confidence interval,2.315-5.815,P<0.001),TNM stage(HR,1.676;95% confidence interval,1.407-1.997,P<0.001),AXL expression(HR,1.395;95% The confidence interval(1.019-1.910,P=0.038)was related to the prognosis of gastric cancer patients.Multivariate analysis showed that age, radical and TNM staging were independent risk factors for gastric cancer. The combination of c-MET expression with AXL and c-MET was not associated with overall survival(OS)in patients with gastric cancer.By analyzing the TCGA colon cancer database, the univariate analysis of pathological parameters and AXL,c-MET expression and prognosis of colorectal cancer patients showed: TNM staging(HR,2.276;95% confidence interval,1.770-2.927,P<0.001)AXL expression(HR,1.399;95% confidence interval,0.936-2.090,P=0.101)correlated with the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer.Multivariate analysis showed that TNM staging was an independent risk factor for colorectal cancer patients. There was no correlation between c-MET expression and combined detection of AXL and c-MET with overall survival(OS)in patients with colorectal cancer. Conclusion: In this study,we analyzed the Kaplan-Meier Plotter gastric cancer database and found that the expression of AXL is related to the prognosis of gastric cancer patients. There is no correlation between the expression of c-MET and the prognosis of gastric cancer patients. The age, radical degree,TNM stage, and AXL expression were found in patients with gastric cancer by analyzing TCGA gastric cancer database. The prognosis was related.Multivariate analysis showed that age, degree of cure, and TNM staging were independent risk factors, but c-MET expression and combined detection of AXL and c-MET were not associated with prognosis of gastric cancer patients.TNM staging and AXL expression was associated with the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer.Multivariate analysis showed that TNM staging was an independent risk factor;c-MET expression and combined detection of AXL and c-MET were not associated with the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer. Therefore,AXL may serve as a diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for gastrointestinal malignancies.
