| Objective: To describe the etiology, pathological mechanism and clinical and image features of acute macular neuroretinopathy via 3 case reports. Methods:In this case series, detailed clinical history and multimodal imaging are reported in 3 patients with AMN including Fundus photograph,SD-OCT,Near-infrared reflection,Fluorescence fundus angiography,Angio-OCT,etc.Result:It seems that there is no risk factors in relation with patients of case 1and case 2,while a nonspecific flu-like illness attacks the one of case 3 who has a evident virus detection.NIR in conjunction with SD-OCT may be the most sensitive imaging modalities to diagnose the retinal lesions in AMN:dark or gray well-demarcated lesions in NIR and hyper-reflectivity of the outer or inner retina on SD-OCT.Lesions are classified as type 1(case 2)or 2(case1 and case3)in relation to the SD-OCT location of the lesion above(type 1)or below(type 2)the outer plexiform layer(OPL).After treatment, all the 3 patients imporved. Conclusion:The pathophysiology of AMNR is unclear, the causes are uncertain, and there is no specific treatment for this condition.Analysis of reported risk factors in AMN would seem to suggest a retinal vascular etiology.NIR in conjunction with SD-OCT may be the most sensitive imaging modalities to diagnose the retinal lesions in AMN and the utilization of multimodal diagnostic imaging has enabled an increasingly detailed characterization of AMN. |
