Objective: To measure the improvement of variation of exophthalmos in patients with blow-out orbital fracture after surgery.Methods: 68 patients who underwent reconstruction surgery of orbital with transconjunctival approach and 3D-printed rapid prototype model in our hospital from Aug.2013 to Jan.2018 were selected to experimental group,while 23 patients who underwent reconstruction surgery of orbital with transconjunctival approach,but without 3D-printed rapid prototype model in our hospital from Oct.2012 to Jul.2013 were selected to control group.The orbital computed tomography data before the surgery and within 3 days after surgery were collected to measure the exophthalmos of both eyes before and after surgery by the software Mimics.The changes of exophthalmos before and after surgery were compared.The changes of exophthalmos underwent this two surgery procedures were compared.Results: In the experimental group,the values of the operation eye are significant higher than that of the healthy eye(p<0.05)in males,the difference is 2.9611±0.21729 mm.The values of the operation eye are significant higher than that of the healthy eye(p<0.05)in females,the difference is 2.29896±0.17824 mm.In the control group,the values of the operation eye are significant higher than that of the healthy eye(p<0.05)in males,the difference is 1.19179±0.33218 mm.The values of the operation eye are significant higher than that of the healthy eye(p<0.05)in females,the difference is 1.31767±0.31769 mm.The variation after surgery of experimental group is significant higher than that of control group,the difference is about 1.2mm in males and 0.9mm in females.Conclusion: The operation with 3D-printed rapid prototype model is more significant in increasing exophthalmos than without it,because it meets the anatomical reduction.The reconstruction surgery of orbital with transconjunctival approach and 3D-printed rapid prototype model should be more widely applied in clinical.
