The Study Of The Acupuncture Treatment Of Eye Disease In Chinese Traditional Medicine

The time was changed.Western medicine was imported into our country.People gradually forget the treatment of eye disease by Chinese Traditional Medicine.However its character and advantages still exist not changed.Nowadays,advance in technology.There are increasing concerns that equipments surrounding us may cause damage to our eyes.Hence the subject of preventing eye diseases becoming more important.There is a clear advantage of eye diseases treatment by Chinese Traditional Medicine,therefore this subject is worthy to study and develop.ObjectiveThe main objective is to recall the treatment of eye disease by Chinese Traditional Medicine and to collect these treatment experiences from ancient literature helping today's eye-clinics.MethodsBy searching all the literatures before 1930 concerning treatment of eye disease and result was separated into three parts:“eyes”,“acupuncture”and “comprehensive”.The study contents have four parts,they are “The concept of development of eye disease in the history”,“The basic theory of eye disease research”,“The etiology,pathogenesis and symptom research” and “The external therapy and acupuncture research”.The process tools are Microsoft Word and Excel for data Collection,Comparison,Analysis and Conclusion and use SPSS to do the statistic analysis.The source of literatures,The method of searching,Search criteria and Inclusion criteria/Exclusion criteria/Reject criteria all of them are described in attachment 1.ResultsThis study result have 209 literatures was included.There are only 2% in Shang and Zhou period until Qing dynasty increase to 38%.We could understand the Mu Bing to become specialization that was staring from Sui and Tang period before,developing in Song Jin and Yuan period and great prosperity in Qing dynasty.The Mu Bing will be developed to excellent and professional therapy still need to understand the procedure of development in history and learning experience from ancients.The basic theory of Mu Bing generated Wu Lun doctrine and Ba Kuo doctrine.The two doctrines were applied to clinic still have Chinese doctor to keep different opinion.This time was searching from all the relative literatures to find lots Chinese doctor in past dynasties to apply two doctrines to the clinic and found that there were two kinds of Ba Kuo theory.They had same meanings but different in locale of eye's eight trigrams.The symptom was increased from the clinic experience accumulated.A result was generated from this study to understand the symptoms were increased to 2269 in Ming dynasty,until Qing dynasty start to simplify and use same attribute and symptom name to sorting them.This procedure like from simple to sophistication,then complex to simplification transformation.This result will help the clinic to get the reference information for the etiology,pathogenesis and provide by systematized and convenient information to the clinic.The external therapy of Mu Bing was applied to clinic from long time ago and lots therapy method still pragmatic at present.Two kinds of traditional surgeries“Jin Zhen Kai Zhang”and “Gou Ge Zhen Lian Fa”will be valuable to study more.We get the 33 literatures from 209 literatures which have included Bu Bing treatment by acupuncture.There are 4 literatures in eyes literature which have 12% per total in eyes literature.There are 22 literatures in acupuncture literature which have 81% per total in eyes literature.There were 7 literatures in comprehensive literature which have 5% per total in eyes literature.The literatures have recoded Bu Bing treatment by acupuncture was just a few.This study used 33 literatures to sort out and analysis to get the 956 item content for Bu Bing treatment by acupuncture.They most are included in eyes literature and acupuncture literature and to get 2036 frequency times for the acupuncture point was used to therapy.Also get the 200 acupuncture points was used and the average frequency was 10.18 times.More results were analyzed from all the information,they described to assemble the acupuncture to therapy from ancients.There were 64% to used single point to describe the function of treatment.They also used double points and multipoint to assemble to treat the Mu Bing and describe the treatment procedure and Reinforcing/Reducing,but the ratio was a few.Otherwise,they used “Depletion”,“Moxibustion”,“Acupuncture”and “Multi-way”to treat the Mu Bing,the main way was “Acupuncture”.There is a result to select acupuncture point for treatment the Mu Bing was found 55 points for“Commonly used acupuncture point”in the List20.The distal point is most common by “LI4”.The proximal are more common by “BL1”,“BL2”,“GV23”and “GB15”.The most common meridian was Bladder meridian by using acupuncture point.There is 22.5% in using ratio and the most frequency ratio and the maximum number of acupuncture point for Bladder meridian.On the other hand,the Stomach meridian and triple energizer meridian have higher suing ratio too.We found the Governor meridian also have higher using ratio and more use for acupuncture point have “GV24”,“GV23”,“GV22”,“GV21”and “GV20” by ancients.This news will help the clinic to treat the Mu Bing.The specific acupuncture point was used more than general acupuncture point.There is 51.72% per total frequency ratio for the specific acupuncture point.The “Five acupuncture point”using ratio was highest in all the specific acupuncture point.There are “Ying point”,“Shu point” and “Yuan point”more common to be used in the “Five acupuncture point”.The total result described the acupuncture to treat the Mu Bing by ancient was following the basic theory.The result also has reference value in the clinic treatment.Finally,to find out five kinds of symptom that have a significant correlation in the following the rules of meridian treatment to compare with all the following the rules of meridian treatment.it could verify all the following the rules of meridian treatment and the commonly used acupuncture ponit that could provide a good refrence for clinic treatment.ConclusionIt is then suggest doctors to practice two kinds of traditional surgeries for the eye disease and hope that they could have verify through clinic at practices for the treatment of eye disease by acupuncture described in ancient experiences and then make further conclusion.The treatment of eye disease by acupuncture will require further experiments to verify ancient experiences and make further conclusions.
