| ObjectiveMultiple myeloma bone disease(MBD)is one of the most common complications of multiple myeloma.Patients with MBD have poor quality of life,high tumor burden and lower overall survival.Although clinical trial the new drugs are being carried out in vivo and in vitro,there are still no special therapeutic drugs.This paper aims to find a way to improve the osteolytic destruction of MBD from the traditional Chinese Medicine,using kidney tonification and blood-activation formula combined with Bortezomib chemotherapy and bisphosphonates by clinical trials,which can be better for clinical practice.MethodsFrom January 2017 to January 2018,a total of 60 MBD patients who were hospitalized in Department of Hematology,the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were collected according to the experimental requirements.They were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with 30 patients in each group.The experimental group was treated with kidney tonification and blood-activation formula and Bortezomib chemotherapy and bisphosphonates.The control group were treated as same as the experiment group,but without the kidney tonification and blood-activation formula.The patients were closely observed,and they were treated with symptomatic treatment.Continuous treatment for 3 months was a course of treatment.We need to record the changes of the clinical manifestation,TCM syndrome scores,bone pain intensity scores,average CT value of maximum lesion,maximum focal plane,25-OH VitD,P1 NP,β-CTx,N-MID,β 2-MG,MC,Karnofsky scores,and safety evaluation index,before and after the experiment.Then the results are collected,and statistical methods are used to compare and analyze the two groups of data to draw a conclusion.ResultsThe experimental group was better than the control group in improving the curative effect of TCM syndrome.The data of the two groups were compared(P < 0.05),which had significant statistical significance.The bone pain intensity scores in the two groups were all better than those before the experiment(P < 0.05),and the bone pain intensity scores of the experimental group improved better than the control group.The average CT values of maximum lesion and maximum focal plane of the two groups were compared(P < 0.05),suggesting that the improvement of the osteolytic lesions in the experimental group is better than that in the control group.The data of bone markers four items(25-OH VitD,P1 NP,β-CTx,N-MID)data comparison(P < 0.05),suggesting that the improvement degree of the experimental group is better than that of the control group.The Karnofsky scores in the two groups were increased after the experiment,indicating that the treatment methods of the two groups played a certain role in improving the quality of life of patients.However,the difference between the two groups before and after the experiment(P < 0.05)indicates that the Karnofsky scores of the experimental group is better than the control group.There was no difference between the two groups of patients before and after the experiment,including the concentration of blood calcium,the index of tumor load,and the evaluation of the curative effect after the experiment.There was no significant difference between the two groups of blood analysis,liver and kidney function,stool examination,urine combination and other safety indexes before and after the experiment.ConclusionThe application of kidney tonification and blood-activation formula can reduce the scores of TCM syndromes,thereby improving the curative effect of TCM syndromes,reducing the bone pain intensity scores,promoting bone formation,reducing bone destruction and improving the quality of life of patients.However,there was no significant difference in the improvement of blood calcium concentration,tumor load index,and the effect of chemotherapy after the experiment.To sum up,the kidney tonification and blood-activation formula can improve the bone disease of multiple myeloma.The rational use of traditional Chinese medicine can play a certain role in the treatment of MBD. |
