Study On The Quality Of Life By The Intervention Of Strong Gluten And Zhuang Gu Plaster In The Type Of Liver And Kidney Deficiency Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is one of autoimmune diseases with unknown etiology.It's characterized by persistent synovitis,which can lead to cartilage destruction and bone erosion.It is a chronic disabling disease which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Professor Chen Jifan based on the pathogenesis syndrome of deficiency of liver and kidney and blood stasis of rheumatism,pathological features of tendon injury and bone damage,making the characteristics of Strong gluten and zhuanggu plaster.The plaster has effect of invigorating liver and kidney and expel dampness and stiffness.Quality of life evaluation is the individual's experience of an living conditions.There is a common place with the concept of "the unity of nature and man" in traditional Chinese medicine.So it is scientific and feasible to use the evaluation of quality of life in the treatment of diseases with traditional Chinese medicine.ObjectiveTo make a comprehensive evaluation on the quality of life with the intervention of strong gluten and zhuanggu plaster in the liver and kidney deficiency type of rheumatoid arthritis patients.To explore the mechanism of the improvement of quality of life in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.And to provide a theoretical basis for the application of strong gluten and zhuanggu plaster in clinical uses.Methods51 rheumatoid arthritis patients with type of liver and kidney deficiency were collected in accordance with the criteria for diagnosis and the exclusion criteria.Patients taked the strong gluten and zhuanggu plaster(10g per time,once daily in the 1st week,and twice daily in the second week and the after),taking 21 consecutive days for 1 course,taking 4 courses in total.The primary treatment regimen of the patients continued to remain unchanged during the entry period.The quality of life was assessed by the SF-36 scale and the HAQ scale before and after 4 courses of treatment.ResultsThis research found that the strong gluten and zhuanggu plaster can improve the quality of life and joint function of liver and kidney deficiency of rheumatoid arthritis after 4 courses treatment.In the SF-36 scale,there are 6 areas for physical functioning,role physical,body pain,role-emotional,vitality and mental health,the quality of life scores after intervention compared to the scores before intervention had been improved,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the 2 areas of general health and social functioning,the score of quality of life improved after intervention compared with that before intervention,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).On this basis,the study found that the physical component summary score and the mental component summary score increased significantly after the intervention,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total score of HAQ decreased significantly after intervention,and the difference was statistically significant.There was a statistically significant difference in the scores of diet,walking,touching objects and holding objects,personal hygiene and activities before and after intervention(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference dressing before and after the intervention(P>0.05).None of the patients in the study had adverse drug reactions.ConclusionStrong gluten and Zhuang gu plaster can improve the quality of life and the function of knee joint of patients with rheumatoid arthritis which are the type of deficiency of the liver and kidney.
