objectiveCardiomyopathy frequently complicates sepsis and is associated with l ow blood pressure and low perfusion. In this work,we tested whether Elect roacpuncture(EA)at ‘Neiguan'PC6 could alleviate the development of ca rdiac dysfunction in experimental sepsis induced by lipopolysaccharides(L PS)in mice.ResultElectroacpuncture ‘Neiguan'PC6 prevented LPS-induced cardiac inflam mtion, cardiac systolic dysfunction, low blood pressure and low perfusion.Because lowered blood pressure in septic shock contributes to poor perfus ion.Electroacpuncture PC6 is an initial treatment toincrease blood volu mein low blood pressure and low perfusion, suggesting that benefical impac t of Electroacunpuncture was not mainly related to pleiotropic effects of EA on cardiac inflammation.InnovationIn experimental sepsis, cardioprotection by EA may be related to reduced cardiac inflammation and alleviates systoblic dysfucntion in vivo that can increase blood volume in blood pressure and tissue perfusion pressure.ConclusionElectroacupuncture improve cardiac contractile and blood volume vivo in sepsis via modulation of pro-inflammatory response. Our finding emphasize that elctroacupuncture can provide therapeutic advantages to control inflammation in infectious and inflammatory disorders.
