Objective: to observe the clinical curative effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of acute peripheral facial paralysis. Methods: 68 cases of peripheral facial paralysis were included in the cold-type acute stage, and 33 cases were divided into experimental group(TCM fumigation + acupuncture treatment)and control group(simple acupuncture treatment)35 cases. Before and after treatment, the two groups were quantified and evaluated in the main symptom grading. Results: in the 33 cases of the experimental group,6 cases were cured,16 were effective,10 were effective,1 was ineffective, and the total effective rate was 96.9%.Among the 35 patients in the control group,3 cases were cured,7 were effective,22 were effective,3 were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 91.4%.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared with the rank sum test, indicating that the difference was significant(p < 0.01),suggesting that the experimental group was superior to the control group. The main symptom graded quantization scores were compared, and the two groups were lower than those in the group before treatment(P < 0.05),and the test was superior to the control group. Two groups were compared before and after treatment, and the two groups were lower than before. The comparison between the two groups was better than the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion: both treatment regimens have curative effect on acute peripheral facial paralysis, which is more effective in the treatment group with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation + acupuncture treatment group.
