Influence Of The Various Axial Astigmatiam On Visual Acuity In Eyes With Toric Intraocular Lenses

Purpose To analyze the influence of against-the-rule and with-the-rule astigmatism on clinical effect in eyes after Toric intraocular lens(IOL)implantation.Methods Prospective clinical study.A prospective study of 51 patients(64 eyes)was conducted.All cataract patients underwent phacoemulsification were received Acrysof Toric IOL(Acrysof Toric intraocular lens)?And divided into two groups:A group(35 eyes,28 patients,mean age 65.60±16.93)was with WTR(The axi of astigmatism150°-180° and 0°-30°)or B group(29 eyes,23patients,mean age 65.60+16.93)was with ATR(The axi of astigmatism45°-135°).Postoperative follow-up 1 week?1month?3month,Collect and record astigmatism,Age,spherical Refractive error,uncorrected distance visual acuity,corrected distance visual acuity,contrast sensitivity,corneal astigmatism,residual astigmatism and the patient satisfaction questionnaire of Acrysof Toric IOL implantation Correlations between UDVA and other parameters were also examined within groups.Results Preoperative corneal astigmatism was 1.93±0.91D in the A group and 1.83 ±0.98D in the B group,showing a no significant difference(P>0.05),The 3 months residual corneal astigmatism after operation was 0.94±0.68D(mean±SD)in the A group and 0.76±0.5D(mean±SD)in the B group,showing a no significant difference(P>0.05),The 1 week UDVA after operation was 0.57±0.19(mean±SD)in the A group and 0.88±0.23 in the B group,showing a significant difference(t=-3.453,P=0.003),The 1 month UDVA after operation was 0.70±0.21(mean±SD)in the A group and 0.83±0.24 in the B group,showing a significant difference(t=-2.975,P=0.004),The 3 months UDVA after operation was 0.68±0.21(mean ± SD)in the A group and 0.83±0.21 in the B group,showing a significant difference(t=-2.856,P=0.006),The 3mo CDVA after operation was 0.80±0.21(mean±SD)in the A group and 0.85±0.23 in the B group,showing a no significant difference(t=-2.592,P=0.126),There were no significant differences in other parameters between groups.Conclusion There was significant improvement in postoperative cylinder and UDVA with toric IOLs compare with preoperative.The postoperative UDVA of the WTR astigmatism is obviously better than the ATR astigmatism.
