The Effects Of Taking Dimethicone At Different Time On Colonoscopy

Objective: Colon cancer is one of the most commonest digestive tumor,its incidence is high in the world?It could improve the survival rate if diagnosing early.Now,the gold standard of diagnosing is a biopsy with colonoscopy.But,the effect of the examination can be affected by bowel preparation.The cleaning drugs can clean the colon well,but they can't remove the intracolic foam.It was showed that,dimethicone can remove the foam.but the taking time isn't definitely.The purpose of this article is to investigate the effects of taking dimethicone at different time on colonoscopy.Methods: Eight hundred patients who received common colonoscopy examination in our hospital from December 2016 to July 2017 were recruited into this study,they were divided into groups A,B,C and D,randomly.The group A was given polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder 6 h before the examination;The other three groups were on the basis of group A and were given dimethicone 4,2 and 6h before the examination respectively.The mucosal visibility,intracolic foam,tolerance degree and adverse reactions of the medications of the four groups were compared.Results: The amount of intracolic foam :group B was significantly lower than the other three groups(P<0.05),group C was significantly lower than group D and A(P<0.05),group D and A had no statistical difference(P>0.05).The tolerance degree:group B was significantly higher than the other three groups(P < 0.05).group C was significantly higher than group D and A(P<0.05),group D and A had no statistical difference(P>0.05).The bowel cleanliness of the Boston score and the patients' adverse reactions of medications in four groups had no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: Taking dimethicone can reduce the intracolic foam and improve the tolerance degree more effectively at 4h before colonoscopy.
