Purpose: Recently, the microwave technology has been used for the liver parenchyma cutting by coagulating the tissue before liver transection. This study was designed to demonstrate that pre-coagulation with microwave ablation was effective and safe for hepatic parenchymal transection during liver partial resection. Methods: A total of 64 eligible patients were enrolled and randomized to receive either traditional electric coagulation with suture(control group)or MWA treatment(MWA group)for the hepatic surgical.Compare the intraoperative situation,post-operative liver function and post-operative recovery between the two groups. Results: Pre-coagulation with microwave ablation group had less intraoperative blood loss(P<0.05),with no significant differences in terms of operation time, postoperative liver and renal function(P>0.05).Conclusion: Pre-coagulation with microwave ablation was effective and safe for hepatic parenchymal transection during liver partial resection.
