Objective: To investigate the changes of plasma BNP levels in patients with ACI and to analyze the relationship between plasma BNP levels and the prognosis. Methods: Collected 88 cases of acute brain injury patients who were treatment in March 2014 to November 2015 from Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University, all patients need go to the hospital after injury in less than 24 h,and diagnosed traumatic brain injury by CT,required patients with simple brain injury. The patients were measured plasma BNP levels on the first day,the fifth day and the tenth day after the injury. The Prognosis with two weeks of GCS score as the standard, and analyze the relationship between the two.Results:1.The patients with different degrees of injury first days BNP values were different(P < 0.05).The recombination and light group were different on the fifth day and tenth day(P < 0.05),there is no difference between moderate and severe on the fifth day and tenth day(P > 0.05).2.There is no difference on the first day and tenth day of mild group(P> 0.05).BNP value of mild group on the fifth day is higher than the first days and tenth day(P <0.05).In moderate and severe group, the BNP value increased and then decreased with the increase of time.(P <0.05)3.The plasma BNP of the patients with Subarachnoid hemorrhage were significantly higher than the patients without subarachnoid hemorrhage on the first day, fifth day and tenth day(P <0.01);and both poor prognosis rate difference(P <0.01).4.The prognosis of patients with good prognosis group BNP level on the first day, fifth day and tenth day is lower than the patients with poor prognosis.(P < 0.01).5.The value of BNP in the first day after injury was the best value for the prognosis. Conclusion: Plasma BNP values increased with injury severity of acute brain injury patients, while the higher levels of plasma BNP makes the worse prognosis.Plasma BNP may be used as indicators of the severity of head injury and prognosis.
