According to global cancer statistics, cervical cancer is the second most common female cancer and the fourth cause of cancer death in women diseases. Its pathogenesis is with the infections of human papilloma virus(HPV).Due to the different creening efforts, the incidence rate between developed and developing countries have significant differences.According to the National Cancer Institute(NCI)guidelines, standard treatment in patients with early cervical cancer include surgical treatment, treatment in patients with advanced cervical cancer include chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatment.Intravenous chemotherapy alone has always been a means of palliative therapy.Platinum-based chemotherapy is most commonly used. However, due to the limitations of current treatment, finding effective new method for the treatment of advanced and recurrent cervical cancer is imminent.Molecular targeted therapy is for tumor control, the development of specific protein molecules, nucleotide fragment,or gene product designed for biological drugs to prevent tumor progression. While most molecular targeted therapy is still in the clinical trial phase,as we come to understand the occurrence and development of cervical cancer the development of molecules targeting,we may find more effective therapies of cervical cancer. The anticipated development of molecular targeted agents may offer a promising perspective for cervical cancer.
