The Investigation Of The Efficacy Of Butyrphthalein Combined With Cocktail Therapy In The Treatment Of Mitochondrial Diseases

Objective:By analyzing the the improvement of symptoms of 28 patients with mitochondrial disease,the efficacy of butylphthalein and cocktail therapy in the treatment of mitochondrial disease was discussed by using the Barthel score and the NIHSS score as criteria.Methods:28 cases of patients with mitochondrial disease from neurology department of Navy General Hospital from April 2014 to April 2016 as the object of study,the clinical symptoms,laboratory and imaging of selected cases,the treatment and disease assessment were retrospectively analyzed,including general imaging examinations,electromyography,muscle biopsy,serum lactate levels and gene mutation test.All the confirmed patients were treated with modified cocktail combined with butylphthalide.After discharge,oral medication was continued.The clinical effect,the improvement of symptoms 6 months and 1 years after treatment,and the NIHSS score and Barthel score before and after treatment were observed.Results:1.In 28 cases of patients with mitochondrial disease,22 cases of patients with different degrees of elevated serum lactic acid level,14 patients with EMG showed myogenic damage,19 cases of MELAS sydromes with ragged red fiber(RRF),15 patients with mitochondrial gene A3243 G mutation.2.All patients were treated with modified cocktail therapy combined with butylphthalide and system support therapy.After active treatment in 28 patients,4(14.28 per cent)were effective,13(46.43 per cent)were effective,11(39.29 per cent)were ineffective and the total effectiveness of treatment was 60.71 percent.The NIHSS score and Barthel score were better than those before treatment(P <0.05).3.The clinical symptoms of 10 patients after 6 months of treatment were relieved in different degrees.Among them,5 patients had significantly relieved the symptoms of paroxysmal headache,3 patients had significantly reduced the frequency and duration of epilepsy,3 patients had improved the symptoms of ataxia,2 patients had improved the symptoms of myasthenia,and the NIHSS score and Barthel score were improved compared with before the treatment(P <0.05).4.The total efficiency of treatment after one year was 57.14 %;Compared with pre-treatment,the symptoms of myasthenia,headache,ataxia and hallucination were obviously relieved.The NIHSS score and Barthel score were better than those before treatment(P < 0.05),but there was no obvious difference compared with 6 months before.Conclusion:1.MELAS syndrome is one of the most visited mitochondrial diseases in the Department of Neurology.By analyzing cases and literature,clinical symptoms such as stroke,headache,epilepsy,and abnormal imaging signals,laboratory examinations,muscle biopsies,and Gene tests,Which can be finally diagnosed.2.Butylphthalide combined with cocktail therapy can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with mitochondrial disease,stabilize the condition,relieve brain and nerve dysfunction,and improve the quality of life of patients.
