Background: The subject which named "Mathematical Model of Qualitative Data Analysis and Quality Evaluation of Hawthorn Pieces,"(item NO: 81403105),is derived from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.Chinese traditional medication decoction pieces is that the processed product of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)by using specific method of purifying,cutting,frying and etc..It is from the Traditional Chinese Medicine,but also have the different aspects,like drug actions.Chinese traditional medication decoction pieces as the carrier of the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine,its efficacy is often multifaceted.It is difficult to find the correlation between the individual chemical components and its multiple effectiveness.So the current quality standards based on the individual components of the quality control model has some limitations.Color,odor and other indicators can objectively reflect the overall quality of decoction pieces.For example,the traditional method is mainly through the experience of the old drug workers,nose smell,mouth taste and hand test methods to obtain information on the quality of decoction pieces to evaluate the quality of Chinese Herbal Pieces.However,empirical identification by people often has the disadvantages of poor operation and easy interference by extraneous factors;Biological evaluation is a good complement to some of the complex and pharmacological effects of traditional Chinese medicine and some difficult to quantify the traditional Chinese medicine trait information,but its stability,repeatability and the representative of the selected indicators remains to be further studied;And the current decoction pieces in some foreign pharmacopoeia is worth learning,but its overall standard is still lower than our pharmacopoeia.Accordingly,the objective of this paper is to quantify the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine by using the intelligent sensory system in order to achieve the purpose of ensuring the quality of traditional Chinese medicine.In the color aspects of the traditional chinese medicine,the paper introduced the current equipment of color measurement,such as color cards,colorimeter,spectrophotometer,computer vision,and analyzed their applicable scope,advantages and disadvantages.According the characteristics of traditional chinese medicine,the paper established three methods to determine the color,which is color card method,color difference method and computer vision method.According the established methods of color determination,the "five colors" of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces were objective to express,the samples' color values ranges were list below: White color-L*(89.600~98.918)?a*(-2.1~0.90)?b*(0.29~20.66);Red color-L*(7.645~45.684)?a*(-0.587~17.915)?b*(0.465~26.348);Yellow colorL*(16.63~90.044)?a*(1.537~17.314)?b*(10.354~56.988);Black color-L*(7.725~19.270)?a*(-3.98~1.348)?b*(1.595~6.153);Green color-L*(14.291~39.472)?a*(-1.572~1.348)?b*(2.51~0.9853).In the aspect of quantification of flavor,taste,the electronic nose and electronic tongue of the bionic intelligent system were introduced,and aslo analysis the sensor problems about the lifetime and specificity.High quality and higher price is the basic requirements of the market economy.As a commodity,traditional chinese medicine should also based on the quality,different grades of decoction pieces between the different prices should be a certain difference to meet the needs of different classes of medication.At present,there are grading standards or commodity specifications in Chinese medicine,which are mainly classified by the length,width and weight of the drugs.In this paper,Radix Ophiopogonis was used as an example to analyze the grading indexes by analyzing the color,length and width,and establish the grading standard.In the case of excessive abuse of hormones Radix Ophiopogonis,the raw material of Radix Ophiopogonis with the length of more than 5cm has the possible to using the hormones.At the same time a large number of statistics show that when the color values L *> 67 or b *> 23,the Radix Ophiopogonis may be Sulphur fumigated.At present,the quality of fried decoction pieces is the problem of traditional chinese medicine research.In this paper,hawthorn is used as the example,and the traits of hawthorn are quantified by computer vision,electronic nose and electronic tongue.The principal component analysis is used to distinguish the hawthorn and its processed products.Based on the analysis of color,flavor,taste and the composition of total flavonoids and organic acids,the paper used artificial neural network and support vector machine to constructe the mathematical model of hawthorn quality evaluation.By predicting the composition of different processed products to achieve the identification of processed products.Based on the analysis on the basis of Chinese traditional medication decoction pieces quality standards at home and abroad,the paper realized the objective expression of traits by using intelligent sensory technology,and according to the advantages and disadvantages of different color measurement tools,the method of color detection of traditional Chinese medicine was constructed,and the color of Chinese medicine "five colours" was realized.The intelligent sensory technology are used to achieve the objective of the Hawthorn traits,and artificial hawthorn quality evaluation model was constructed by artificial neural network and support vector machine,which provided a new idea for the quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine.
