Objective:To observe the association between left ventricular geometric and prehypertensive by echocardiography. It is also important to investigate functional changes of left ventricular in adults with prehypertension and its influencing factors. Methods:It was based on a cross-sectional study,a total of 122 participants were diagnosed prehypertension because of the non-specific symptoms such as headache or physical examination found that high blood pressure in the first Hospital of Shanxi University. They were classified into normotension group and prehypertension group.Prehypertension group includes 94 males and 28 females, mean age 49.76±9.97 years old.And another group has 34 males and 25 females, mean age 46.39±10.24 years old.Fasting blood samples were collected in the morning all participants.Including fasting plasma glucose(FPG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),triglyceride(TG),and so on.Then to measure Blood pressure and echocardiography.According to the results of echocardiography, all participants classified into 4patterns:normal geometry(NG),concentric remodeling(CR),concentric hypertrophy(CH)and eccentric hypertrophy(EH).We analyzed clinical informations, echocardiographic parameters, distribution of left ventricular(LV)geometrical patterns and functional changes in normotension group, prehypertension group. To determine the factors associated with abnormal left ventricular geometric with prehypertension by multivariate logistics regression analysis.Results:(1)Prehypertension group including 122 patients, the prevalence rates of NG,CR,CH and EH were 92(75.4%),8(6.6%),5(4.1 %)and 17(13.9%),and the normotension group has participants 59,the prevalence rates were 50(84.7%),CR7(11.9%),CH 0(0%)and 2(3.4 %).(2)Male,high age, weight,BMI,and WC were previous major risk factors for Prehypertension.(3)Compared with the normotension group,m FS decreases, and the values of A? E/Em increase,E/A decreases in prehypertension group, and the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion:(1)In this study, there existed left ventricular geometric change in prehypertension status, which from the most proportion of EH.(2)Left ventricular systolic and diastolic function may decrease in the period of Prehypertension.(3)Male,older age, higher BMI and waist circumference(WC)were the major risk factors for prehypertension,DBP with left heart structure change into positive correlation.
