Objective : By randomized controlled trail(RCT),to compare the clinical effect, analgesic effect and the incidence of PHN with EA combined with heavy-moxibustion and Western Medicine, and to explore the relationship between the progress of herpes zoster and T cell subsets. Methods:There are 72 cases with acute herpes zoster were selected from 2015 June to August 2016,and two of them are konckedout. The treatment group was treated with EA combined with heavy-moxibustion,and the cntrol group treated with western medicine. We evaluated the symptom score and pain score during the course of treatment, and observed the changes of T cell subsets of subjects before and after treatment, and followed up at the end of treatment.Results:(1)Baseline comparison: There was no significant difference between the two groups in baseline condition(P<0.05).And the two group could observe comparable.(2)Comprehensive effect comparison: The treatment group had significant difference compared with the control group in therapeutic index and symptom scores(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in comprehensive efficacy evaluation(P>0.05).(3)Comparison of pain index:There was significant difference between the two groups in VAS score, pain onset time and duration of pain after treatment(P<0.05).(4)Herpes index:There was significant difference between the time of callus removal(P<0.05),but nosignificant difference was found between the time of stopping blister and the time of scab(P>0.05).(5)Comparison of T cell subsets:Comparison between groups: The difference between the treatment group and the control group was has statistically significant in T cell subsets(P<0.05).Comparison of intra-group: After treatment, the levels of T cell subsets in two groups compared with before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(6)The occurrence rate of PHN:The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)after the follow-up of thirtieth days, sixtieth days and ninetieth days.(7)Safety and tolerability evaluation:The two groups are safe and effective with good acceptability and tolerance.Conclusion:(1)The effect of EA combined with heavy-moxibustion therapy on herpes zoster is exact. The therapy is easy to be popularized and applied in clinic.(2)There is a correlation between the progression of herpes zoster and T cell subsets. The early regulation of cellular immune function can shorten the course of disease and reduce the incidence of PHN.
