Clinical Observation On Grain-sized Moxibustion For The Treatment Of Hand Osteoarthritis

Objective: Through the clinical curative effect of wheat-grain size cone moxibustion for treatment of hand osteoarthritis,to explore the therapeutic efficacy effect and safety of this therapy on osteoarthritis of hand.Methods:72 cases of patients with hand osteoarthritis chosen as the research object,were randomly divided into the seed-sized moxa group and drug group,36 cases each one.The patients in the seed-sized moxa group received grain-sized moxibustion for treatment five times a week,and we regarded five times as one course,three courses of treatment were required;36 cases in drug group were treated by meloxicam 7.5mg once a day for three weeks,and we regarded one week as one course.VAS score,tender joint counting,joint morning stiffness time and joint function scale were adopted to evaluate the clinical effect before and after every treatment.All clinical data were statistically analyzed by SPSS20.0.Results:1.The VAS score of both groups was lower than that of the same group before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);between two groups,the VAS score of the two groups after the first course was statistically different(P<0.05)and the drug group was lower than another group,the difference after the second course had no statistical significance(P>0.05),after the third course,there were statistical difference(P<0.05),and the seed-sized moxa group was lower;2.After the second and third course,the joint function score of the seed-sized moxa group,was lower than the pretreatment score,and after each course,the score of drug group was also lower than before,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The joint function score had no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05);3.Compared with before treating,the joint morning stiffness time of both groups reduced,and the difference of both groups had statistical difference(P<0.05).After every course of treatment,the joint morning stiffness time between two groups had significant difference(P<0.05),and the seed-sized moxa group was superior to the drug group;After every course of treatment,tender joint counting of two groups had decreased compared with before treating,and had statistical difference(P<0.05);but no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05);4.Compared with before treating,the clinical symptom score of the two groups decreased after treatment,and had statistical difference(P<0.05);In clinical symptom score,there was no statistical difference between the two groups after or before treatment(P>0.05);5.The seed-sized moxa group markedly effective rate is 16.67%,total effective rate is 80.56%.The drug group markedly effective rate is 19.55%,total effective is86.11%.The markedly effective rate and total effective rate had no statistical difference between two groups(P>0.05);Conclusion:(1)Grain-sized moxibustion treatment of hand osteoarthritis are effective in terms of clinical therapeutic effect;(2)Grain-sized moxibustion treatment is better than meloxicam in improving the symptoms of the joint morning stiffness,and the pain relief is slower than that of meloxicam.As the course of treatment increases,the analgesic effect of Grain-sized moxibustion treatment is gradually enhanced.(3)Grain-sized moxibustion treatment for hand osteoarthritis has the advantage of less adverse reactions,higher safety and good compliance,so it is worthy to recommend its clinical use.
