Objective:Autoimmune thyroiditis and breast cancer have been contradiction for years. Some scholars believe that thyroid globulin antibody and thyroid peroxidase antibody are the risk factors of breast cancer. Some scholars consider it to be a protective factor for breast cancer, and the other even believe that there is no correlation between the two factors,so the purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between autoimmune thyroiditis and breast cancer by collecting the date of published literature. Methods:The relevant studies were collected by searching databases of PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase, and Google Scholar.Extracted the data and conducted the statistical analysis by Revman Manager 5.3 software and Stata 12.0 software. The quality of the studies was estimated using the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ)and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS).Results:Of 3059 identified studies,9 were eligible and were included in our analysis(N=1325 participants). The combined effects of TPOAb and TGAb on breast cancer are as follows:(TPOAb: OR=2.66,95%CI=1.93~3.68,TGAb: OR=2.30,95%CI=1.67~3.18).Conclusions:The present results indicated that the serum levels of TPOAb and TGAb are significantly higher in patients with breast cancer than in healthy controls.
