Progress In The Study Of Transforming Growth Factor ? Associated With Paraquat-induced Lung Injury

Transforming growth factor ?(TGF-?)as a kind of multifunction cytokines,takes part in the cellular proliferation and differentiation,healing of wounds,regeneration of vessels and involving in cell cycle regulation.Paraquat(PQ)as an effective and contact herbicide,is widely used in agriculture.Paraquat is highly toxic to humans and animals,and the mortality rate of paraquat poisoning still remains high,the fundamental reason of which is that its toxic mechanism is not yet clear so special antidote is still lack in clinical.In addition,paraquat poisoning caused acute lung injury and rapid progress of pulmonary fibrosis is the leading cause of death of patients,and TGF-? as the cytokine with the strongest fibrosis function,its role in acute lung injury after paraquat poisoning and pulmonary fibrosis is more widespread concerned.
