Objective: to analyze the value of capsule endoscopy in the diagnosis of small bowel diseases. Methods: from August 2015 to August 2017,100 patients(59 males and41 females)were examined by capsule endoscopy in the second Hospital of Hebei Medical University. There were 88 cases in the symptom group(31patients with abdominal pain,47 patients with gastrointestinal hemorrhage of unknown cause,10 patients with diarrhea),the results were analyzed. Results: the capsule incarceration occurred in 1 case and was removed by enteroscopy, the remaining 99 cases successfully completed the examination of the whole small intestine.Good tolerance,no complications, gastric operation time of 3-226 min, small intestine operation time of 47~403min.The detection rate of disease was 75 in the symptom group and 42 in the physical examination group. The types of disease were inflammatory lesions of the small intestine, vascular lesions of the small intestine(including vascular malformation and vasodilation, ulcerative lesions of the small intestine, small intestinal masses).Conclusion:1.The detection rate of intestinal diseases by capsule endoscopy is high, especially in patients with OGIB.The diagnostic rate and sensitivity were higher.2.Endoscopic examination of intestinal lesions by capsule for OGIB was characterized by small intestinal vascular lesions, intestinal ulcerative lesions were the next. For the patients with unexplained abdominal pain and obscure diarrhea, the small intestinal inflammatory lesions were mainly diagnosed by capsule endoscopy, and the ulcerative lesions of the small intestine were secondary.
