Purpose:To measure ACL morphology and intercondylar width of the patients with ACL injury in Chongqing city of China, and find the difference among the previous studies and ours.To give suggestions for the ACL reconstruction in our patients, and provide references for the development of Chinese ACL reconstruction. Methods:Included 120 ACL injury patients between July 2015 to September 2017 and had treatment in our hospital. They all made definite diagnosis by arthroscopy, recorded the somatic data.A preoperative measurement on MRI was performed. To measure the ACL tibial insertion length, width, and ACL length, inclination angle, intercondylar notch width. An intra-operative measurement in arthroscopy also was carried out.To measure the ACL tibial insertion length, width and intercondylar notch width.Subsequent those data were statistically analyzed. Results:MRI measurements of the length and width of ACL tibial insertion were 10.9±1.6mm and 13.6±2.1mm,the intercondylar notch width was 15.3±2.5mm.In arthroscopy, the length and width of ACL tibial insertion were 11.0±1.7mm and 13.4±2.1mm,the intercondylar notch width was 15.1 ±2.5mm.Bland-Altman plots showed an agreement between the two measuring methods. The length and inclination angle of ACL were 30.3±4.2mm and 40.4±7.3° by using MRI.The patients with the tibial insertion length<10mm are about 4.2%of all the patients, and the 10-12mm is about 17.5%,12-14mm is about 42.5%,14-16mm is about 21.7%,16-18mm is about 10.0%,and>18mm is about 4.2%.The patients with ACL tibial insertion width<10mm accounted for 30.0%of all the patients, and the 10-12mm was about 45.0%,12-14mm was about 19.2%,14-16mm was about 4.2.The patients with the intercondylar notch width<10mm accounted for 2.5%of all the patients, and the 10-12mm was about 5.8%,and the 12-14mm was about 23.3%,the 14-16mm was about 26.7%,and the 16-18mm was about 24.2%,and the 18-20mm was 15.8%,the 20-22mm was 1.7%.The male had a lager intercondylar width than the female(15.7±2.5mm vs 14.6±2.3mm).The ACL tibial insertion length and ACL length had positive correlation with the height and width. Conclusions:The length of ACL tibia insertion in patients with ACL injury in Chongqing city of China was significantly different from that of the European and American populations.ACL injury patients had a higher ratio of tibia insertion length to<14mm.There was no significant difference in the width of the intercondylar notch between our patients and the European and American populations, and most of the ACL injuries suffered from intercondylar nests>14mm.According to our results, the majority ofACL injury patients in Chongqing of China preferto perform anatomic single-bundle ACL reconstruction. The length of the ACL was similar to that of the European and American population, but with a smaller ACL inclination angle. The ACL tibia insertion length and ACL length were positively correlated with the height and weight of the patient, and the height, weight of the patient may become the method to predict ACL morphology before surgery. In addition, there was a gender difference in intercondylar notch width.
