Objective: To comprehensively evaluate the effects of comprehensive geriatric assessment(CGA)in colorectal cancer patients from 5 aspects including clinical indexes, function indexes, economic indicators, patients' satisfaction, and subjective assessment index through the perioperative clinical practice of CGA.Methods: Elderly patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer between July 2016 and July 2017 were selected as the research subjects and simply divided by a random number table, with 110 cases in the control group and 101 cases in the experimental group. They all received surgical treatment. The routine nursing mode was carried out in the control group, while the routine nursing mode combined with CGA was given in the experimental group, and corresponding intervention was adopted according to the evaluation results. Two groups of patients were compared from 5aspects including clinical indicators(postoperative complications, postoperative off-bed activities / eating / exhaust time),function indexes(basic daily ability),economic indicators(average hospitalization stays, average hospitalization expense),patients' satisfaction, and subjective assessment index(qualitative operational requirement QoR-15),so as to clarify the intervention effects of perioperative CGA in patients withcolorectal cancer.Data was analyzed with SPSS 17.0.Measurement data of this study included age, hospitalization stays, hospitalization expenses,off-bed/eating/exhaust time, satisfaction, and Qo R-15 points. The mentioned measurement data belonged to two random samples independent of each other.F test was used for variance analysis. The enumeration data in the study included gender composition ratio, disease composition ratio and complication rate, which were analyzed with four table chi-square test. Results: 1 CGA assessment results: CGA assessment on 101 patients found the top five problems were, defecation problem(94.1%),multiple comorbidities(70.2%),middle-to-high risk of falling(64.3%),sleep disorder(61.4%)and abnormal nutritional status(58.4%).2.There was no statistically significant differences between two groups of patients in postoperative complications(all P>0.05),and the postoperative off-bed /eating /exhaust time of the experimental group were all earlier than the control group(P<0.05).Functional index(basic daily ability)was superior in the experimental group to the control group(all P<0.05);there were no statistically significant differences in the economic indicators(average hospitalization day, average hospitalization expenses)(all P>0.05);The satisfaction of the experimental group was superior to that of the control. Conclusion: Comprehensive geriatric assessment(CGA)can help nurses understand the health problems in elderly patients with colorectal cancer.Through the intervention of CGA,nurses can effectively manage the perioperative period of elderly patients with colorectal cancer,so as to improve the postoperative diet and activity compliance of patients.Although the effect of CGA on medical outcomes(postoperative complications, average hospitalization day, total hospital expenses)was not obvious,it can directly improve the elderly patients' subjective healthevaluation results and the degree of satisfaction,so that the patients can benefit from it,which is worth for further verification of CGA and deep exploration of its value.
