Objective:To explore the clinical features of pediatric epilepsy by brain tumors in children. Methods:Clinical date of 38 patients with secondary epilepsy by brain tumors. The manifestations of sides and pathologies of the tumors, types of epileptic seizure, expression of electroencephalogram(EEG),the surgery and outcomes were analyzed.Results:1.The brain tumors in children with secondary epilepsy mainly came from temporal lobe and frontal lobe(P<0.05).The tumors in parietal lobe, occipital lobe and insular lobe were relatively rare.2.The neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumors were more often seen in secondary epilepsy by brain tumors, followed by oligodendroglioma.3.Complex partial seizures were more common in temporal lobe tumors than those of frontal lobe tumors and the generalized tonic clonic seizures were more seen in frontal lobe tumors than in temporal lobe tumors(P<0.05).4.The sharp wave and /or sharp and slow wave complexes were mostly seen in scalp EEG.The accuracy of EcoG to position the epilepticfoci was higher than that of the scalp EEG.5.The main surgery treatment was Resection of of tumor and the epileptic foci.6.The seizure outcomes: Engel ?class78%,Engel?-?class22%.Conclusion:1.The main brain tumors secondary to epilepsy in children were benign tumors.2.Resection of tumor and epileptogenic zones was the chief surgery treatment.3.The outcomes of epilepsy were fairly effective.
