Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of bronchoscopic interventional treatment of children with tracheobronchial tuberculosis. Methods: These clinical data of children who underwent bronchoscopic interventional therapy for tracheobronchial tuberculosis at Children's Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University from March 2013 to November 2017 were collected.Based on conventional anti-tuberculosis treatment, all patients was performed by interventional treatment such as thermal ablation, cryosurgery,or balloon dilation. All patients were evaluated by the clinical features and bronchoscopic findings and complications before and after interventional treatment.Follow-up time was 6 months to 2 years.Results:1.Twenty-six patients with tracheobronchial tuberculosis included 12 males and 14 females, aged from 3 months to 17 years, with an average age of 55 months. The onset of cough and fever was more common.2.Among 26 children with tracheobronchial tuberculosis, there were 8 cases of ulcer necrosis type,15 cases of granulation proliferation type, and 3 cases of scar stenosis type by bronchoscopic finding.3.All children were treated with interventional treatment such as thermal ablation, cryotherapy, and balloon dilatation, based on anti-tuberculosis treatment. The number of treatments varied from 2 to 12 times. The efficacy analysis showed that 17 cases were markedly effective,7 cases were effective, and 2 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 92.31%.4.No adverse reactions such as pneumothorax, infection spreading and hemorrhage occurred after intervention. Conclusion: Based on systemic antituberculotic treatment, bronchial interventional treatment can effectively remove caseous necrosis, reduce granulation hyperplasia, relieve respiratory obstruction, and promote lesion absorption for children with tracheobronchial tuberculosis. It is safe and reliable, worthy of clinical application.
