Objective :To assess the efficacy and safety of SSRIs in the treatment of ulcerative colitis with anxiety and depression. Methods:According the retrieval strategy, the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, all randomized controlled trials(RCTs)in English or in Chinese about SSRIs for UC were searched from CNKI?Wan-fang data?VIP Chinese Scientific?Pubmed?Google academic English database.Methodological quality of trials was assessed according to the Cochrane score evaluation, and statistical analysis was performed by using Statal 11.0software supplied. Results: A total of 16 papers met the inclusion criteria.Efficacy analyzes were included in 12 studies.Meta-analysis showed that the relative risk(RR)of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs)group was superior to placebo group(RR=1.23,95% CI:1.14~1.33),the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Depression and anxiety analysis were included in 12 studies and 8 studies respectively. The results showed that SSRIs can also improve depression and anxiety in patients with weighted mean difference(WMD)of-6.81(95% CI:-10.55 ~-3.08)and-3.78(95% CI:-5.30 ~-2.25),the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Adverse reactions included in the study of 8 studies, suggesting that the addition of SSRIs treatment of UC adverse reactions and routine treatment of adverse reactions RR = 1.52(95% CI: 0.97 to 2.37),P> 0.05,it was not statistically significant.Treatment of UC with SSRIs does not increase the incidence of adverse reactions in patients. Conclusion:Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors can significantly improve the efficiency of treatment of ulcerative colitis,to improve patients with depression and anxiety, and no significant adverse reactions.
