Objectives To study the clinical efficacy and the bleeding reaction of adequate anticoagulant therapy after stratification in non-high-risk patients with acute pulmonary embolism by using pulmonary embolism severity index, and estimate the application value of pulmonary embolism severity index. Methods Date of forty-seven hospitalization patients with acute pulmonary embolism in Tangshan Gongren Hospital from January 2014 to September 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. They were selected and divided into the low risk group and the intermediate risk group by PESI.The short-term effect and the adverse reaction rate were detected and made statistical analysis. The difference was statistically significant(P > 0.05).Results There were 25 patients in the low risk group, and 21 were effective and 4 were ineffective. There were 22 patients in the intermediate risk group,20 were evaluated as effective and 2 were ineffective.According to the level of ?=0.05,P>0.05,the effective rate of adequate anticoagulant therapy for low risk and intermediate risk can not be considered as different. There were 7 bleeding reactions in the low risk group and 4 in the intermediate risk group.According to the level of ?=0.05,P>0.05,it can not be considered that adequate anticoagulant therapy for low risk, intermediate risk bleeding rate is different. Conclusions The short-term benefit and risk of acute pulmonary embolism with pulmonary embolism severity index stratified as low and moderate risk after adequate anticoagulant therapy were consistent. Therefore,it is reasonable and easy to use pulmonary embolism severity index to stratify non-high-risk patients with acute pulmonary embolism. It can be popularized in grass-roots hospitals.
