Investigation Of Menopausal Symptoms Of Women In Haizhu District Of Guangzhou And Menopausal Cognition Of Medical Staffs In Zhujiang Hospital

Objective1.To understand the occurrence of menopause symptoms of 40?60 years old women in Haizhu District of Guangzhou,furtherly to analyze their correlation with age,occupation,monthly income,body mass index,educational background,marriage birth and so on,as well as the cognition and use of Menopausal Hormone Therapy(MHT),so as to provide the basis for the comprehensive management of menopause.According to the.2.understand the cognition of menopause knowledge,the awareness rate,attitude and usage of MHT in Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University.Through lectures and publicity,we will improve medical staffs understanding of MHT and further improve the health care of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.Method1.The subjects are women aged 40?60 years old who visited the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University from November 2016 to April 2017 or women aged 40?60 years old who living in Haizhuqu District,Guangzhou.The survey included age,occupation,monthly income,body mass index,education,marriage,fertility,menstruation,and so on.The modified Kupperman scale was used to evaluate the incidence of menopause related symptoms.The survey also included the investigation of MHT.2.The subjects were in-service medical staff in Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University.The survey was conducted from November 2016 to February 2017.The contents of the investigation included age,sex,occupation,Department,title and so on;understanding of menopause related symptoms;the way of understanding,understanding and attitude of MHT;the use of MHT of staffs themselves or their family members,and their use scruples of MHT.Result1.A total of 500 womens were included in the investigation.The average age of menopausal women was 49,62 ± 3.09 years.93.8%of the women had menopausal symptoms.The top 6 highest incidence of symptoms were fatigue,irritability,insomnia,bone and joint pain,loss of sexual desire and vertigo.The mean score of modified Kupperman score was 10.68 ± 7.84.The occurrence of menopausal symptoms has positive correlation with age,and has negative correlation with education and monthly income.36.6%women will consult gynecologists when suffer from menopausal symptoms.The awareness rate of MHT was 35%,37.2%with a positive attitude toward MHT,and the utilization rate of MHT was 7.8%.Age,education and monthly income were significantly correlated with the use of MHT.2.A total of 1143 medical staffs of Zhujiang Hospital were included in the investigation.They have a basic understanding of menopause related symptoms.Irritability,depression,sleep disorder,hot flashes and sweats are the most familiar symptoms of menopause among them.Most of the medical staffs in gynecology and obstetrics department know MHT from the lecture training and books and magazines.Other clinical and auxiliary medical staffs are mainly learned from the books and magazines.The awareness rate of MHT was 82.4%among the medical staffs in the hospital.73.1%medical staffs know that MHT can improve perimenopausal symptoms.54.5%know MHT can help to prevent the occurrence of osteoporosis.38.8%know MHT is good for the prevention and treatment of genitouinary atrophy,and 32.7%understand that early use of MHT in perimenopausal period can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.62%medical staffs considered it necessary to carry out MHT for women with menopausal syndrome.17%of female medical personnel aged above 40 years old were using MHT,70%of medical personnel of gynecology and obstetrics department aged above 40 years old were using MHT.Worrying about side effects is the biggest concern of medical staffs for the use of MHT.Conclusion1.The incidence of menopausal symptoms among the interviewed women in Haizhuqu District of Guangzhou is high,but the degree of symptoms is not heavy.Most middle-aged and old women do not know enough about menopausal symptoms and have poor cognition of MHT.2.The medical staffs of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University have a basic understanding of menopause related symptoms.The medical staffs are similar with MHT,however,they know much less in the genitourinary tract and cardiovascular system aspects.The use rate of MHT in different department medical staff is different.The use rate of MHT among gynecologist and obstetricians is high,but which among the medical staffs in other clinical department is relatively low.
