Optimization of the operating rooms allocation plan can help improve the working efficiency of medical staff and effectively reduce the total cost of the hospital. Many factors affect the planning of operating rooms. And emergency patients' arrival is one of the most common and important.Due to the uncertainty of their arrival time and surgery duration, emergency patients make a significant impact on operating rooms planning for elective patients. In the existing research, mathematical models constructed by scholars for such problems are often NP-hard and difficult to solve directly. So they usually get the near-optimal solution to the problem by heuristic algorithms or simulations. In addition, due to the complexity of the algorithm, some of the influencing factors are seldom considered in the solution process, such as constraints of medical equipment, patients satisfaction and so on.Therefore,in this paper,a new method is proposed by improving the existing methods to solve such kind of problems, which can get the exact optimal solution of the sub-problem.And for the problem of operating rooms planning with emergency patients during a certain period, medical equipment and patient's satisfaction are respectively taken into consideration.Through establishing the corresponding mathematical models, analyzing and solving them, optimal allocat ions are obtained while their effectiveness of algorithm is verified. In the Chapter 1,research background and significance of the dissertation is introduced; Then a literature review based on the operating rooms allocation problems(such as emergency patients, medical equipment, patients' satisfaction, etc.)is presented as well; And at last this part has introduced the full text of the research content. In the Chapter 2,a research on operating rooms planning with emergency patients is proposed.First of all,we establish a mathematical model according to the assignment cost of patients and utilization cost of operating rooms to minimize the total cost of the hospital.Because of its NP-hard and containing exponential number of columns, column generation approach can be used to transform the model into solving its sub-problems.Then,we obtain the exact optimal solution to the sub-problem by analyzing and using a series of methods, such as KKT condition, bubble sort, branch and bound, etc. Finally, optimal allocation is got and numerical experiments show that the problem can be solved under the gap of 2%and within acceptable CPU time.Under small scales, the results of our method are even better than those of previous studies. In the Chapter 3,a research on operating rooms planning with emergency patients and medical equipment constraint is proposed.First of all,we establish a mathematical model according to the assignment cost of patients, utilization cost of operating rooms and medical equipment to minimize the total cost of the hospital. The model is hard to solve directly since there exist random terms and nonlinear form of functions. Then it is proved to be equivalent to a mixed integer programming model through modification and sample average approach is used to eliminate the uncertainty. Its astringency is proved afterwards when the scale of problem is large enough. Finally, optimal allocation is got and numerical experiments show that when the scale of patients increase, overtime days increase while idle days decrease, and number of equipment used will increase until the upper limit. Moreover, regardless of the scale of patients, with the increase of equipment cost, overtime days are almost unaffected, the number of equipment used gradually reduced and quickly decline to zero when reaching a critical value. In the Chapter 4,a research on operating rooms planning with emergency patients and elective patients' satisfaction is proposed.First of all,we establish a mathematical model based on the trade-off between utilization of operating rooms and satisfaction of patients.Different weights on them are taken into consideration. Then, the basic model is linearized and extended model is set and analyzed by linearization and sample average approach. Finally, optimal allocation is got and numerical experiments show that the more emphasis the hospital attaches to patient satisfaction, the more bias costs will be incurred, but the processing time will be shorter. When the weight is more biased to operating rooms utilization, computing time affected by the expansion of the scale of the problem is more obvious. In addition, the optimal allocation of both basic model and extended model are verified to be consistent. In the Chapter 5,the full text is summarized.
