Objective:To compare the clinical effect of Mesh-plug tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy and Modified Kugel inguinal herniorrhaphy.Materials and Methods:200 patients with inguinal hernia in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2015 were divided into group I and II.Each group concluded 100 cases. The patients of Group I were performed Mesh-plug tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy while Group II were performed Modified Kugel tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy. Two groups were compared by operative time, hospital stay, postoperative wound infection, scrotal hydrocele, urinary retention, local foreign body sensation, postoperative chronic pain, other complications, and recurrence rate. Results:Operative time and hospital stay were no obvious difference between two groups,P>0.05.The incidence of postoperative chronic pain and complications of group I were significantly higher than group II,the difference was statistically significant,P<0.05.The recurrence rate of group I was 2%while group ? 3%,the difference was not statistically significant,P>0.05.Conclusion:Mesh-plug tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy and Modified Kugel tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy can effectively treat inguinal hernia. The recurrence rates were low.The incidence of postoperative symptoms of Mesh-plug tension-free inguinal herniorrhaphy was high.Preperitoneal surgery, especially the open preperitoneal surgery under local anesthesia,is a safe and reliable operation method, which has more extensive indication and advantage. |
