Objective:To observe the safety and clinical efficacy of Hezhu Dri nk in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.(phiegm turbidity and b1 ood stasis syndrome).Methods:Using an open non-randomized concurrent control study m ethod,a total of 64 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(phiegm turbi dity and blood stasis syndrome)diagnosed at the Second Affiliated Hos pital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from J anuary 2017 to December 2017 were selected and divided into two grou ps.The treatment group included 32 cases and the control group includ ed 32 cases 32 cases,the ratio was 1:1.Metformin was used as the basi c therapeutic agent.The treatment group was given treatment with Heshu Drink and the control group was treated with metformin alone.The effe ct of Heshu Drink on the individual symptom scores of TCM and fastin g blood glucose and OGTT2h blood glucose was observed.Result:1.Safety analysis:There were no serious adverse events in the treatment group and the control group during and after the treatment.2.Effect on single symptom score of traditional Chinese medicine:Before treatment,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the scores of individual symptoms in the two groups decreased after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Among them,the single symptom scores of heavy body and head,tiredness,epigastrium distention,dry mouth,ungratifying diarrhea,crimson tongue and slimy fur scored significantly lower scores in the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05),Suggesting that Hezhu Drink can improve the heavy body and head,tiredness,epigastrium distention,dry mouth,ungratifying diarrhea,crimson tongue and slimy fur scored TCM symptoms in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus;For the individual symptom scores of bitter taste in the mouth and upsetness,the difference between the two groups after treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that the effect of Hezhu Drink on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,there was no significant improvement in symptoms of bitter taste in the mouth and upsetness.3.Effect on fasting blood glucose:Before treatment,there was no significant difference in fasting blood glucose between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that fasting blood glucose was comparable before and after treatment in both groups.After treatment,compared with the control group,the fasting blood glucose in the treatment group was significantly lower,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Indicating that Hezhu Drink can reduce fasting blood glucose.4.Effect on OGTT2h blood glucose:Before treatment,the two groups of OGTT2h blood glucose comparison,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that two groups of patients before treatment OGTT2h blood glucose comparable.After treatment,compared with the control group,the OGTT2h blood glucose in the treatment group was significantly reduced,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Indicating that Hezhu Drink can reduce OGTT2h blood glucose.Conclusion:1.Hezhu Drink can reduce TCM symptoms scores of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(blood stasis syndrome)who suffer from heavy body and head,tiredness,epigastrium distention,dry mouth,ungratifying diarrhea,crimson tongue and slimy fur,and improve the clinical symptoms.2.Hezhu Drink can reduce fasting blood glucose and OGTT2h blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.3.The clinical application of Hezhu Drink is safe and reliable.
