Objective: To explore the relationship between the maximum standardized uptake value and KRAS mutation as well as clinical features in the patients with colon cancer.Materials and Methods: Preoperative PET/CT images of forty-five patients diagnosed with colon cancer were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the relationship of SUVmax with KRAS mutation and clinical features. The groups were matched by sex, age, lesion position, diameter,TNM stage,AJCC stage, pathological type, differentiation state, carcinoembryonicantigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)and carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125),to analyze the difference of KRAS mutation state and SUVmax between different groups.Grouped by KRAS mutation state, the difference of GLUT-1 expression was analyzed. Results: 1.The rate of KRAS mutation is 33.3%(15/45).2.SUVmax of colon cancer with mutational-type KRAS was 16.9±14.1,SUVmax of colon cancer with wild-type KRAS(13.0±9.8),there was a statistical difference between the two groups.3.There was no statistical difference between KRAS mutation of each group, grouped by sex, age, lesion position, lesion diameter.4.Grouped by SUVmax and sex, age, lesion position, pathological type,CA199 and CA125,there was no statistical difference between SUVmax of each groups(P>0.05).Grouped by lesion diameter,TNM stage,AJCC stage, differentiation state and CEA,there was statistical difference between SUVmax of each groups(P<0.05).5.Grouped by KRAS mutation state, there was statistical difference between the GLUT-1expression of two groups. Conclusions: 1.High 18F-FDG accumulation can be correlated with KRAS mutation in colon cancer patients.2.SUVmax can be related to differentiation state and lesion diameter CEA as well as statge.3.KRAS mutation can be correlated with GLUT-1 expression in colon cancer.
