Objective To follow-up the effect of the nail bed avulsion on the survival of the nail after replantation of thumb and finger degloving injury. To explore the effect of nail bed injury on thumb and finger degloving injury and to enrich the treatment experience. Methods To analysis a total of 75 fingers of 75 cases who were diagnosed as thumb and finger degloving injury and received replantation of the avulsed skin in our hospital, from February 2009 to July 2015.According to the patient's preoperative nail bed injury, the cases were divided into two groups: the avulsed nail bed,the nail bed of no avulsion, and 33 cases of the avulsed nail bed group, and 42 cases of the nail bed of no avulsion group. There was no statistical difference between the two groups(gender, age, location of injury, side of injury, the time of Injury to surgery)before surgery(p>0.05).Follow-up was performed postoperatively, and the follow-up time to replantation surgery of avulsed skin is at least 6 monthes.Focus on the survival of the nail bed.SPSS19.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the follow-up data, and two independent sample t tests were used in the measurement data. The comparison of counting data was conducted with the chi test, and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Analyze the statistical differences between the two groups of necrosis rate data of nail bed. Results All of the 75 patients, avulsed skin with replantation had good survival. The follow-up period was 6~28 months(mean 16.5 months). In the group of avulsed nail bed,follow-up time was 8~28 months(mean 16.6 months),10 cases of necrosis of nail bed and 30.3% of necrosis rate;In the group of nail bed of no avulsion, the follow-up time was 6~25 months(mean 16.4 months),5 cases of nail bed necrosis, and the necrosis rate was 11.9%.There was no statistical difference between the two groups during the follow-up period. There were statistical differences between the two groups in the necrosis rate of the nail bed(P<0.05).Conclusion The necrosis rate of the nail bed in the group of avulsed nail bed was significantly higher than that in the group of nail bed of no avulsion after the replantation of the avulsed skin.
