Ojective To investigate the varying levels of serum Nesfatin-1 in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients and its factors associated.Methods 58 patients with type 2 diabetes were selected from the Department of Endocrinology of the West First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University Hospital in March 2013 to December 2013 as the patient group.In the same period,30 cases with non-diabetic medical from the Medical Examination Center of our hospital as the control group.According to body mass index(BMI),58 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into two groups.There were 28 samples in type 2 diabetes-non-overweight(T2DM-NW)group and 30 cases in type 2 diabetes-overweight(T2DM-OB)group.Srum Nesfatin-1 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).In addition,we record the following indicators in each group:sex,age,height,weight,systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS)),HemoglobinA1C(HbA1c),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C)and calculate insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR).Results(1)SBP,FBG,HbA1c,HOMA-IR,TG and serum Nesfatin-1 of the T2DM group were higher than the control group;and HDL-C was lower than the control group,which the differences were both tatistically significant(P<0.005).(2)BMI,FINS,HoMA-IR of the T2DM-OB group were increased when compared with T2DM-NW,which the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the Serum Nesfatin-1 levels of the T2DM-OB group was higher when compared with T2DM-NW,but,the difference did not had statistical significance(P>0.05)(3)Correlation analysis showed that the plasma nesfatin-1 levels of the T2DM group had a positive relation with FINS and HOMA-IR,which the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The plasma nesfatin-1 levels of the control group had a negative relation with BMI and TG,which the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05)(4)Multiple regression analysis results shown that the FINS is a independently factors of Nesfatin-1.Conclusions(1)Nesfatin-1 serum levels of Type 2 diabetes was higher significantly than the control group,suggesting Nesfatin-1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.(2)The plasma nesfatin-1 levels of the T2DM group had a positive relation with FINS and HOMAIR,suggesting Nesfatin-1 has a close relationship with metabolism changes of glucose and FINS and IR.
