Study On Characters Of Academic Thought And Treatment Of Acupuncture And Moxibustion In Donguibogam

Donguibogam was initially published in Korea in 1613,which is a mark that Korean medicine,also terms as Eastern Medicine,has gradually become independent and improved itself,thus becoming the greatest work in Korean medicine.In 2009,Donguibogam was included in the lists of World Intangible Cultural Heritage Treasure,whose information,relevant contents and influence had been recognized by the world,thus becoming the most important medical classics in the history of Korean.Acu-moxibustion is a special branch of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and has been proved to be significantly effective in the treatment of most diseases in thousands of years.Most contents in are medical prescriptions made based on Taosim health preservation theory,in which Acu-moxibustion therapies are mainly described at the end of the series of all diseases.Although they are simple in contents and acupoint selection,they are extremely important.Meanwhile,the chapter of Acu-moxibustion in Donguibogam varies with the ancient classics in that it is short in length and special in record modes without verses on Acu-moxibustion,and has its own advantages and disadvantages,thereby it is worthy of being studied.Therefore,this study mainly explored the influence of the academic theory value of Acu-moxibustion in Donguibaogam on East Asian medicine by analyzing the academic theory and treatment characters of Acu-moxibustion in Donguibogam,hoping to make contributions to the development of world Acu-moxibustion.Study objective and significanceStudies related to Acu-moxibustion in Donguibogam are few,and Xu Jun’s though on Acu-moxibustion should also be concerned.This study mainly analyzed the literatures reporting on Acu-moxibustion academic theory in Donguibogam,so as to further deepen the understanding of Acu-moxibustion academic thought in Donguibogam.Most contents of Donguibogam have been originated from Huangdi’s Cannon and the medical achievements in Jin Yuan and Ming dynasties in China,but Chinese studies reporting on Donguibogam are rare.And it is also of great literature value and history study value in deepening the recognition of communication between Korean and Chinese medicine through studies on Donguibogam.Study contents(1)To analyze the Taoism reflected in Donguibogam,(2)To understand the Acu-moxibustion academic thought in Donguibogam by analyzing the ancient classics included,and to analyze the influence of clinical experiences of Acu-moxibustion on the Acu-moxibustion academy in China,Korea and Japan by summarizing the experiences of Acu-moxibustion diagnosis and treatment in Donguibogam.Study resultsAcu-moxibustion contents in Donguibogam have been greatly influenced by Taoism thought,which is reflected as follows:(1)Dantian is emphasized,and Moxibustion on umbilicus is used frequently to multiple diseases due to qi deficiency,cold,and kidney insufficiency as well as critical diseases and those related to chest and abdomen by reinforcing Yuan qi so as to eliminate the diseases and prolong the longevity.(2)Jing,Qi and Shen have been tonified by Acu-moxibustion treatment and health preservation method.In the series of Jing,preservation of essence and kidney is emphasized,which is used for treatment of diseases due to loss of sperms,such as nocturnal emission,spermatorrhea,and gonorrhea,etc.Induction health preservation method is combined to replenish essence and prolong longevity.In the series of Qi,cultivation of Qi is emphasized,which is used to treat diseases due to disorder or stagnation of Qi movement,such as Qi stagnation,Qi regurgitation,and Qi disorder,etc.It is also proposed that Qihai can be selected for the treatment of all diseases related with Qi.In the series of Shen,treatment with reinforcing heart is emphasized,in which heart-related acupoints are selected for the treatment of diseases like manic psychosis,epilesia,amnesia,susceptibility to fear and dementia,so as to achieve the target of reinforcing heart to tranquilize mind and preventing mental disorders and Qi dispersion.(3)Three acupoints on back are emphasized,and moxibustion of acupoints on back is used frequently as it is effective in removing stasis,replenishing Yang,circulating Qi and tonifying Qi,so that it can be used for diseases related to sputum-dampness syndromes,asthenic syndromes,asthenic-heat syndromes,blood syndromes and sthenic syndromes.(4)Acu-moxibustion theory is special in academic thoughts and treatment,and has proposed theory of "Moxibustion,instead of acupuncture,is available for the treatment of asthenic syndromes",implementation of Acu-moxibustion on selective day,and flexible selection of acupoints and treatment based on syndrome differentiation.ConclusionAcu-moxibustion methods in Donguibogam are based on Taoism health preservation theory,emphasize Dantian,use moxibustion on umbilicus frequently,regulate Jing,Qi and Shen by Acu-moxibustion method and health preservation,emphasize theory of "three acupoints on back",and apply moxibustion on acupoints on back,so as to achieve the target of treating diseases,and provide reference for the treatment and development of modern Acu-moxibustion.
