Research On Detection And Prevention Of Common Virus Diseases Of Captive Giant Panda In Shaanxi

Qinling Giant Panda is an independent subspecies of giant panda.Because its head is round like a cat,it is called "beauty among national treasures".As a messenger of peace,it has played an important role in enhancing international friendship and the image and reputation of Shaanxi Province.From November 2014 to May 2015,there were 6 outbreaks of Canine Distemper outbreaks of giant pandas in captivity in the Qinling Giant Panda Breeding Research Center of Shaanxi Academy of Forestry(formerly Shaanxi Rare Wildlife Rescue and Feeding Research Center)Panda infection,5 of which are clinically ill,although after a series of treatments,all eventually died.The last panda was positive for canine distemper virus(CDV),and recovered after treatment.The occurrence of canine distemper was a serious epidemic in the artificial captive population of giant pandas in my country,causing irreparable losses.Therefore,disease prevention and control of giant pandas is an important part of protecting captive giant panda populations.There have been cases of giant pandas infected with canine distemper virus,canine parvovirus,rotavirus and caused death.Viral diseases not only seriously threaten the health and population development of captive giant pandas,but also easily cause veterinary public health problems.This study mainly evaluated the threat degree of four common viral diseases to the health of Shaanxi giant panda artificial captive population.It adopted the national standard for canine distemper diagnosis technology(GB/T27532-2011)and canine parvovirus disease diagnosis technology(GB/T27533-2011)The detection methods of Canine Distemper virus(CDV)and Canine Parvo virus(CPV)were detected;conventional PCR method was used to detect rotavirus(Rotavirus,RV))And Hepatitis E virus HEV were tested.At the same time,four virus antibodies were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The results of the study showed that during 2015,a giant panda was detected infected with canine distemper virus.The giant panda had no clinical symptoms.After isolation and treatment,it finally recovered.The other three viruses were detected.In 2016,all four panda viruses tested negative.After immunization with the CDV vaccine,the level of anti-CDV antibodies in the giant panda has been significantly increased,ensuring the health of the giant panda population.This test provides epidemiological data for important viral diseases of captive giant pandas in Shaanxi,and adopts corresponding preventive and therapeutic measures to provide a case basis for epidemic prevention and control of artificial captive populations of pandas.
