Characteristics And Integration Of Natural Protected Areas In Northeast China

With the release of the Guidance on Establishing a System of Protected Areas with Natural Parks as the Main Body,the construction of natural protected areas has entered a new stage of comprehensive deepening of reform.In response to this guidance,promote the construction of national parks and the integration of natural protected areas in Northeast China,collect data on 10 categories of 577 national natural protected areas in Northeast China,including construction year,natural attributes,boundary range or geographical coordinates,etc.Based on the collected information,the mathematical characteristics and spatial analysis methods were used to analyze the quantitative characteristics and distribution patterns of the national natural protected areas in Northeast China.Combined with the data of the authenticity,integrity,importance and priority areas of biodiversity conservation areas in the ecosystem of Northeast China,the potential regions for the construction of national parks in Northeast China were analyzed.The results suggested that:(1)The establishment of national natural protected areas in Northeast China experienced three stage,namely the stage of stagnation,the initial develop stage and the stage of rapid development,suggesting the overall upward trend from 1956 to 2016.Affected by natural environmental and social system,there are a large number of nature protected areas with overlapping areas in the Northeast China,nature reserves and forest parks overlapping most.According to ecosystem in the research area,it can be roughly classified into six categories,among which forest ecosystem and inland wetland ecosystem dominate in terms of quantity and area.(2)The natural protected areas showing a clustering pattern,dense in the southeast and sparse in the Northeast.Liaodong Peninsula-Bohai Bay,Changbai Mountains,Zhangguangcai Ridges,Dahei Mountains and Lesser Khingan Mountains are high-density area for atural protected areas construction.The natural protected areas tend to be located the areas that near the river and high traffic accessibility.The construction level of northeast national natural protected areas is unrelated to the level of socioeconomic development and population size to a certain extent.(3)There are 8 potential regions suitable for the construction of national parks in Northeast China,the Greater Khingan Mountain,Huma-Hei river and Oroqen Mountain,Lesser Xing’an Mountain,Fengshuigang-Wanda Mountain,Songnen Plain,Zhangguangcai Mountain,Changbai Mountain range,Longgang Mountain—Qianshan Mountain.Beside the area that suitable for the establishment of national parks,suggestions for optimization and integration of 38 national nutral protected areas such as Longwan nature reserve,Longwan group forest park,jingyu nature reserve and jingyu volcanic mineral springs geological park.
