Millet is one of the most important grain crops in China. It has strong adaptability to environment, and has strong resistance to drought and barrenness. At present, scholars at home and abroad mainly focus on its Jinhua, genetics and variety breeding, for millet growth and development, nutritional dynamics and processing technology research is less.To this end, four millet varieties, such as Chifeng grass millet,Paosima,118 and Dabaigu, were used as experimental materials in the Siziwang Banner at the northern foot of Yinshan Mountain in Inner Mongolia, and the experimental research was carried out in three steps:The first step is to analyze the dynamic changes of dry matter yield, plant height,cereal-grass ratio and nutrient content of four varieties in different cultivation conditions and different growth periods, and to compare and study the variation law of forage value, and then to determine the suitable varieties, cultivation patterns and optimal harvest period of forage modulation. In the second step,on the basis of experiment 1,the optimum varieties of raw materials in different growth stages were prepared into silage, and the raw materials in milk maturity stage were mixed with lactic acid bacteria agent, sucrose and cellulase respectively to make silage. At the third stage, the optimum raw materials were prepared into hay and silage respectively. After 60d,120d,180d storage. To compare the effect of nutrient preservation in two forage modulation modes and determine the modulation and utilization strategy of millet forage. The conclusions are as follows:1.Among the tested varieties, the running dead horse belongs to the late-maturing variety. At the end of the mature period, the variety is still in the filling period. The yield and nutritional quality of 118 varieties under irrigation conditions were obviously superior.2.The CP content of millet in jointing and heading stage was higher, and with the advancement of growth stage, the CP content decreased gradually, while the WSC content increased gradually with the increase of grain maturity;the NDF content increased first and then decreased, and the NDF content was the highest during filling stage. The yield and nutritional quality of millet reached a certain balance during the harvest period.3.At different growth stages, the silage quality was better, but the pH value was higher and the content of lactic acid was lower.after adding different silage additives, the pH value was effectively reduced and the lactic acid content was increased. The silage quality of the mixed treatment group of lactic acid bacteria and sucrose was better than that of other additive treatment groups.4.The preservation rate of crude protein was higher after millet was prepared into hay feed. The content of crude fat in hay was less than that in silage. The soluble sugar in hay is higher than that in silage, because silage mainly improves its fermentation quality through the consumption of soluble sugar.Although the storage period of silage is long, the loss of sugar is large, and hay modulation is more favorable to preserve soluble sugar in feed.Hay modulation technology is more conducive to the preservation of millet nutrients and reduce the loss rate.
