The research on the division of labor status of various industries in the global value chain has become a research hotspot scholars at home and abroad.Since 41 years of development in reform and opening up,China has become the world's largest forestry producer, not only in trading but also in consuming. She has also successfully integrated into the global value chain of forestry. The global value chain of forestry has become one of the most critical chains in the development of the global circular economy. However, what is the exact position,in the division of labor,of China's forestry in the global value chain? There are still few related studies. This paper fully draws on relevant research results at home and abroad, mainly using official statistics such as WIOD,FAOSTAT,WDI,etc.,based on the perspective of value-added trade, combined with input and output, statistical description, index comparison, multiple regression and other research methods,in the analysis of Chinese forest resources. On the analysis of the basic situation of forest resources and forestry production in China, the division of labor and its influencing factors of Chinese forestry in the global value chain are studied. The Research indicates as follows:(1)Over the past 2000-2016 years,China's forest area has steadily risen, ranking fifth in the world, but the percentage of forest cover was, still lower than the global average.Although the scale of China's total output and value-added of forestry was growing rapidly, its growth rate was significantly lower than that of the service industry and manufacturing industry, and the proportion of forest resources income in GDP also tended to decline. The number of forestry workers declined rapidly, and the gap between per capita value-added remuneration, manufacturing and service industries gradually widened.Compared with manufacturing industry and service industry, the unit capital remuneration of forestry sharply fell, but the total factor productivity of forestry tended to increase.(2)China has replaced the United States as the first one in the global forestry value-added,accounting for an increase in the proportion of global forestry total value added. However,"quantity"does not mean "quality".China's forestry value-added trade is a deficit and the scale of deficit is expanding.China's forestry participation in global value chain has certain international competitive advantages, but it is highly volatile. The domestic self-supporting ability of China's forestry input has been improved to a certain extent, the output of forestry is dominated by intermediate products, indicating that it is in the upstream position in the global value chain.,China's forestry has a relatively low division of labour in the global value chain.(3)The multivariate regression model is used to empirically study the effects of China's changes in forest resources endowment and forestry production relative to other major forestry countries on the changes of division of labor in China's global value chain compared with other major forestry countries. The results show that the forest area ratio, the per capita labor added reward ratio, the total factor ratio and the import penetration rate of China and other big forestry countries play a significant role in promoting China's division of labor relative to other forestry countries, but the impact of unit capital reward on division of labor is not significant.(4)In view of the strategic significance of the development of China's foreign trade in forestry and forest products, this paper proposes the following suggestions:First, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of forestry production and trade structure;Second, use two kinds of forestry resources scientifically and rationally at home and abroad;Furthermore, accelerate the further integration with basic industries of agriculture and forestry, manufacturing industries and service industries. And fourth, strengthen innovation of forest products and strengthen sustainable production and consumption of forest products.
