Cultivated land is an important carrier for humans to obtain food sources.The limited nature of cultivated land requires us to use it reasonably,efficiently and sustainably.In recent years,the rapid development of the economy has led to an increase in people’s living standards,which has led to changes in their demand for cultivated land,that is,from the pursuit of the production function of cultivated land to the multi-functional direction of cultivated land.With the enhancement of the multifunctional recognition of cultivated land,the interaction between various functions has gradually become prominent.Studying the spatial and temporal evolution of cultivated land versatility and its synergy and trade-off relationship is conducive to the formulation of differentiated cultivated land management and protection policies,weakening or eliminating the trade-off relationship between functions and promoting their coordinated development.This paper takes Hubei Province as the research object,and divides the cultivated land into four types: food production,national economic contribution,social security and ecological function.On this basis,the evaluation index system is constructed,and the comprehensive index method,correlation analysis method and space are used to study the spatial-temporal evolution of cultivated land in Hubei Province and its synergy and trade-off relationship,and draws the following main conclusions:(1)The comprehensive functions,food production functions and national economic contribution functions of cultivated land in Hubei Province from 2005 to 2015 were all in an enhanced state,while social security functions and ecological functions were first weakened and then strengthened,the latter fluctuated more.Among them,the comprehensive function of cultivated land is mainly affected by the function of food production;the yield of vegetable per unit area has the greatest impact on the function of food production;the national economic contribution functions is mainly affected by the level of agricultural output;the effect of income level of urban and rural residents on social security function is the largest;ecological function is mainly affected by the diversity index of farmland ecosystems.From the perspective of spatial change,the high-value area of cultivated land comprehensive function is in the area central Hubei province and the area under the jurisdiction of Wuhan,while the low-value area is located in the west and southeast.The high-value area of food production is concentrated in the area hinterland of Jianghan Plain and the surrounding part of Wuhan.,and low-value area is concentrated in the western part of Hubei Province;the spatial evolution law of the national economic contribution function is not significant,and it is scattered in space;the social security function is mainly distributed in the central Hubei area,while the function is weak in the western mountainous area and the southeast and northeast;the ecological function is stronger in the northwestern mountainous areas and weaker in the eastern areas.(2)Correlation analysis of multi-functional synergy and trade-off of cultivated land shows that there is a growing synergy between the functions of food production and the contribution of national economy in 2005-2015,and there is a weakening synergy with social security functions;There is a trade-off between food production function and ecological function,but the degree of trade-off is weakening;There is no obvious correlation between the national economic contribution function and the social security function in 2005 and 2015.In 2010,there was a synergistic effect.Only in 2010,the significance test was passed.The national economic contribution function and ecological function have not passed the significant test over the years,indicating that there is no obvious correlation between the two functions;there is no obvious correlation between social security function and ecological function in the past years.(3)The research on the spatial change of single-function synergy and trade-off relationship of cultivated land shows that the number of areas with synergistic enhancement of food production function was less in 2005-2015,while the number of areas with weakened synergy was more,the former is distributed in the area of Wuhan and Xiaogan City,the latter is distributed in the western part of Hubei;the synergistic enhancement zone and the synergistic weakening zone of the national economic contribution function are randomly distributed in space,the number of the former is decreasing,and the latter is increasing;The number of areas with synergistic enhancement of social security functions has increased slightly.It is distributed in Xiangyang City and the eastern part of Jingmen City,and gradually shifts to the south.The number of areas with weakened cooperation is rapidly decreasing,mainly distributed in Enshi City and Shiyan City in Hubei Province;the number of areas with synergistic enhancement of ecological functions remained basically the same,mainly distributed in Shiyan City,northwest Hubei.The dual-function analysis of the spatial variation of multi-functional synergy and trade-off relationship between cultivated land shows that the number of regions in which the functions of food production and national economic contribution are spatially synergistic and trade-off are small and scattered.The number of food production functions and social security functions showed a small increase in the number of synergistically enhanced areas,mainly distributed in the northern part of Hubei Province;the number of areas with weakened synergies continued to decrease,mainly in the western mountainous areas.There are a large number of areas in which food production functions and ecological functions are expressed in terms of trade-offs,mainly distributed in Shiyan City,northwest Hubei.The number of regions in which the national economic contribution function and the social security function are expressed in terms of trade-offs in space are large,mainly distributed in the central and southern regions of Hubei province.The trade-offs and synergy between the national economic contribution function and the ecological function are not strong.The areas with synergistic enhancement are mainly distributed in the mountainous areas of northwest Hubei,and some of the trade-off effect areas surround them.The number of areas in which social security functions and ecological functions appear to be trade-offs in space are large,mainly distributed in the northwestern part of Hubei province.
