Effects Of Alfalfa On Growth Performance,Carcass And Meat Quality Of Cong Jiang Pigs | | Posted on:2020-01-19 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Q S Wang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2393330596973443 | Subject:Agricultural Extension | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | In order to explore the effects of adding different proportions of alfalfa meal in the full-price diet on the growth,slaughter and meat quality in Congjiang pigs,this experiment has selected 30 healthy,120-day-old Congjiang pigs in the weight of 15.8±1.1 kg as the research objects.All pigs were randomly divided into 5 groups named control group,test I group,test II group,test III group and test IV group.0%,5%,10%,15%,20% of alfalfa meals were added into the diet of the above-mentioned groups.Each group had 6 pigs.2 replicates were set up,each of which was in a pen housing 3 pigs.All pigs were weighed at the end of the test.The test period was 100 d.At the end of the test,the pigs were weighed and slaughtered all pigs and the indicators of their various carcass and meat quality were determined.The results show:(1)Growth performance index: The average daily gain(ADG)of the control group was not significantly different from that of the test group I,the test group II,and the test group III(P>0.05).The experimental group IV had the lowest ADG index,which was significantly lower than the control group(23.08%),the test group II(26.92%),and the test group III(23.08%)(P<0.05).The test I group had the highest F/G,which was significantly higher than the control group(15.22%),the test group II(10.28%),and the test group IV(13.53%)(P<0.01).The control group,the test group IV and the test group II(F/G)were lower,and the difference between the groups was not significant(P>0.05).(2)Carcass meat quality index: Adding alfalfa grass powder to basal diet has certain improvement effect on carcass and meat quality of Congjiang pigs.The average backfat thickness(ABF)of the test pigs in each of the added groups was lower than that of the control group,and the lean meat rate index was higher than the control group.The water strength of the pigs in each group was higher than that in the control group,and the drip loss was lower than that in the control group.The content of intramuscular fat(IMF)in group I was higher than that in control group(10.30%),and the content of intramuscular fat(IMF)in group II was higher than that in control group(17.58%).The tenderness index of the test group I was 16.08% lower than that of the control group,and the tenderness index of the test group II was 18.08% lower than that of the control group.(3)Combining growth performance,carcass quality and economic benefits,adding alfalfa meal to pig’s basic diet feed is a viable way to produce high quality,ecological pigs,and adding 10% alfalfa meal has the best effect on Congjiang pigs breeding. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cong-Jiang pigs, alfalfa, growth, carcass, meat quality | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
